I tried this and was less accurate. I could tell the ball was light and it didn't roll off my hand like the heavier balls do. So I put it on the used ball rack. Only reason I tried it was because I liked the design on the ball. So when I turned out to be no consistent with the lighter weight, it had to go.

I use a lighter ball for my spares, so when knocking out the ten pin it allows me to give it more power and a straight line(less hook potential) as bowling with alot of revs is a pain for the corner pins. But the only problem with it, is that it can effect your strike shot with a heavier ball.

Switching back an forth between weights is a recipe for inaccuracy. If I heard a coach actually recommend this, I'd be sure to tell people to stay as far away from that coach as possible. Bad, bad, bad idea.
