I was always taught to think of Particle balls like Winter (Snow) tires on a car, used to go through the sludge.

I certainly wouldn't be using snow tires when the weather was dry!

Maybe it's me that's got it all wrong and particle is the way to go for dry lanes (I don't think so, but, maybe)?

I thought the same, Jock. My Terminator is a particle ball and the biggest turner I have, even on oil. My Shift is a particle pearl and has to stay on medium oil. Can't handle a flood.

After cgeorg set me straight on the coverstock issues I was having, I think as all of you have said a particle ball like the Scout particle might be a bad idea. Although it would be unaffected by carrydown. I was thinking more of going with the Venus by Roto Grip. It's a pearl particle that would allow more length than a particle ball but be able to get through all of the oil on the back part of the lanes. So think the Rayzr and the Venus are the two possible canidates for me, or I could get both.

You guys have studied balls longer than an MD/PhD studies Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. Buy a ball, already!

Get both. then you could provide a review. So, we don't make the same mistake.
