ray the bag that my wife got me for my b'day was about 100$ from the Pro Shop in hunstville. and it holds 3 balls and is on wheels and has pockets out the yang. but its amazing how much stuff you can get in this bag. just dont leave it in the back of your truck and it starts raining laugh but bags can get expensive. now the spare is an easy one. everyone on here seems to like the white dot. but i use a lanehawk and am thinking about a white dot to try next. laugh have fun man!
your only as twisted as your ball's fury.

in my bag :
15# track--up rising
15# brunswick--super zone powerkoil international release
15# track--kinetic energy
16# morich--awesome finish
15# ebonite--clash
14# lanehawk-- lucky strike

Columbia White Dots, Ebonite Maxims, Brunswick T-Zones, Elite Stars are pretty much all the same. The weight block is the same, and the coverstock is plastic/polyester and similarly priced. Then you have the Viz-a-Balls that are the same but with some sort of image and a price tag usually twice that of the others. There are a couple of plastic balls that have advanced weight blocks, both Lane# 1s, the Clear Diamond and the XXXL, with the XXXL being a little more advanced I believe. They will have a bit more reaction than those listed above but they are great for strike balls on fried lanes.

I would suggest holding onto the shoes. You never know when you need a fresh pair. If you keep them on hand then you won't have to resort to house shoes in case of emergency.

Erin: yes, I'll hold on to the shoes I have now, maybe I can use
the right shoe sometime in the future.
