Thats a good idea Matrix, I think I'll try that. Most of my trouble of late has been caused by my melon. Just get up there, set up, line myself up and go.

yup self doubt is the most fearsome enemy in the game. i bowled like junk today but managed a decent comeback. was having to watch my 2 year old little girl too. while bowling you cant think, just go go go. and i think way too much and then i have to go get her out of something. she stays near me most of the time but she's 2 , so...not much you can do there. but i shot a 93 first. then 155 , 183 and 140 but i was chasing her on that last game so that was it, i had to go after that. so yeah its all in your head, just got to keep it simple and dont let it get to ya

Thanks Everyone. This week things got better, not very good but at least better and that I can deal with that. I shot a 475 (160, 175, 140). The last game I had too many dumb mistakes.
I think what got to me was that I was on a tear. My first 600 series since my comeback, in 8 weeks only one series in the 400's and it was a 481 at that. I was convinced I had brought my game to a new level.
Then the roof caved in. First my worst series since my comeback (420) then the next week I topped that (399). In looking back I may have become overconfident. Even after that 420 I was thinking that was just a fluke and I there was no way it would happen again.
I guess that is what makes this game so interesting. Just about the time you think you have it figured ou, Boom, something happens. I think I was just blindsided by this coming as it did after my best bowling since my comeback 2 years ago.

i noticed something today. i did the go,go,go thing and i noticed that i didn't overdo everything as much. i got up there - checked my feet- counted when i started my approch , 1 2 3 4 , and before i noticed i was putting down 9 or 10 pins walter ray jr style. it helped.

The best way to get through a slump is to keep going. Usually, things get worse before they get better. Also take things one step at a time. Get your timing set, then your release, spare shooting, etc. And slowly your game will come back
