We are all talking about the same thing. Lefty's freeze photo shows how far in front of your slide you still hang on to the ball. The ball should already have been released right next to your ankle.

I see what you mean lefty.Good way of showing with the pix. Is it merely the grabbing that causes it or should i start looking at my timing? Btw..watched michael fagan live yesterday at the dutch open. That the release you mean? That looks real real real smooth.Brilliant player.

Yes that's it exactly, just because the release is smooth, doesn't mean it can't be powerful. TV doesn't do a release like that justice, so for those of you near a pba stop or major tournament I can't explain how impressive it is to watch these guys up close, where you can see how the bowl from closer angles.

I'm not sure what you are asking, but your timing needs to be a little late, ie the slide needs to be completed and you need to be in a stable balanced position just before you let the ball go, if you are not then there might be a timing issue or balance issue you need to work out.

This is so true. I used to bowl with Mike Scroggins years ago, and the guy always amazed me, because his approach, release, tempo everything was so smooth and it never changed. The guy was like a machine. The only problem he ever had was carrying 7 pins.
