if you want to go with Roto-Grip as your main balls then do so. nothing in the world wrong with it. they seem to fit your style and are to your liking. there's a guy where i bowl that rolls nothing but Ebonite and he dont want anything else. all the balls fit his style of play. if Roto-Grip fits then do it. or up for the two ball arsenal. nothing wrong to do both. also you can always try someone else later if you dont think roto is living up to what you want. save save save up for everything and buy accordingly. i have Track in mind on some of the balls i want and want to try Storm. but i'm going with what i think is going to be right for now and Track has it. so your thinking the same thing. but try Lane Masters too. doesn't hurt too see what happens

Hey 180, how is Track? I'm just curous about the Ebergy line of balls and noticed that you had one. As for my arsenal, I guess it wouldn't be too bad shopping around. I like the Odessey and the Terminator so I might have to pick up them sometime as well as the Rayzr. And maybe one of the Avalanche balls or a BW Pearl.

This has been a fairly long discussion, and still without resolution. I still haven't heard or read if you want a ball to carry long, or turn early. Will you drill it Label or Stacked. Do you play inside or outside. Do you crank, or stroke. There are too many other variables to consider. For instance, I know a few who had their Cell drilled Label, and it just kills them. It turns way too early, and is uncontrollable. I know another who has a Sting drilled for a full roller and gets a tremendous back end on the ball, which is uncommon for a full roller. Regardless of brand, I have a ball that is polished, drilled stacked, and it carries long and hits hard. I have another ball that is polished, drilled label, that plays the center oil well, has a controllable arc and hits hard. I have a ball that is drilled Label that rolls longer, and a pearlized ball that is drilled for length and a snap. With these, I can play any spot on the lanes, and can cover any lane condition. 3 just happen to be from the same maker.

I like the ball reaction that I have for my current balls have. They have a 2-3 inch pins at least the Black Widow (16 pounds) and the Cell (16 Pounds) are. Both of the pins are about an inch under the ring finger and on the Cell it's a little off to the right. Both are drilled Stacked I guess and they have their weight holes 4 inches from my hand on the mid-line. I'm a stroker with low-med. revs and speed (I'd say closer to medium). I also have a tweener style that I can use for when I need more side rotation. All of my balls have their original surfaces on them and they get through the midlane and have more of a smooth arch into the pocket. The one setup that you have for your pearl ball is the one that I would like to try when I get a pearlized ball. As for where I play, I can play anywhere from the 1-15board. The 1-5 board play really does [censored] a lot of people off when I play them because they can't seem to understand how I can get 4-5 in a row throwing there, but that's the first place that I learned how to throw a ball. The only thing that I don't particularly care for in the reaction of my balls is that they require a backend to hit the pocket and with the sport shots that I'm on the backends are small. I hope the is enough info to help. Oh I'm right handed, have Vacu-grips in the BW and Cell and have a 15 pound Scout Reactive that I use on dry lanes and as my spare ball.

tracks pretty good so far i'm going to invest in the rising soon. its suppose to be as equal as the Cell but that has yet to be seen by me. the kinetic is suppose to hook as much as the black widow. but the kinetic energy has good length and hooks hard from far out. i shot 176 with it right out of the box, at 5 o'clock on a sunday night. after a league so yeah i've been happy with it since. but i want to try lane#1's buzzbomb and phoenix. but i've read good things about banger too. but never seen one. too many people bowl with Ebonite around here and i want to see Roto-Grip also.

Certain companies have tendencies. Ebonite products tend to hook more than I like, Hammer products are skid/flippy, while Brunswick tends to be more early hooking and even reaction. So it is completely feasable to prefer one brand and use only that brand.

I did some looking around today and there are a lot of balls that would seem like good choices to build an arsenal with. I found 27 balls that could potentially end up in my arsenal. The trick now is narrowing it down to about 5-6 that I could get. And of course it would take time so it might be subject to change.

Brunswick tends to be more early hooking and even reaction. Neither my Avalanche Solid nor my Total Inferno are early or even.

Yeah the two Avalanche balls and the Sidewinder were some of the balls that I was looking at by Brunswick. I decided to give them another chance.

There are always exceptions. However if you take those Brunswick balls and compare them with similar balls drilled exactly the same way in an Ebonite or Hammer product I think you will see what I am saying.
