Had my PBAX league last night. It's match play format, 4 games, 2 with one person and based on points and series in that 2 games you face another person on maybe another pair for 2 more games, 1 point per game, 2 points per total.
We were bowling on the "Shark" last night. What I mean by that is that it wasn't really the Shark. In fact, I could almost say it was our house shot, just a tad wetter. I played a small swing of 10 to 8 on the first pair, and played a little straighter with an 11 or 12 to 10 line. Two boards of play is what I had in order to make a good shot, a tad tighter than the normal house shot where I get 3-4 boards. I scored 217, 192, 213, and 230 for a 213 average on the night, winning 7 out of 8 points. I bring my average up to 181 and I'm happy about that because I've wanted to average 180+ by the end of the league.
Still three more weeks though, hopefully I will maintain it. Viper, then Chameleon. Then the last week is step ladder for top 5. I happen to be in 5th with, I believe, a 14-point cushion so let's just hope I at least win some points to keep my position.

Week 2 of the shot change and again the lanes are flying but with some over under. First game was going OK then I chopped the 6-10 in the 10th for a 188 then went 224-225 for a 637 series. For the team we got slapped for all 7 points. They had a 156 average bowler shoot 612, he carried both sides of the pocket all night. It's not the first time I've seen it and won't be the last.
I'm hanging on to league high average by a pin. I was 2 pins under my average for the night, the 2nd place bowler rolled 612, the 3rd place guy was in the 560s so I held ground for another week while I adjust to carrying a deeper line.

Blog slug points to my BowlSpace blog rather than my normal blog because, for the second time this summer, I established a new personal best official series tonight, a 653 that was fairly close to being my first 700. My night was keyed by a 245 first game, my best so far this summer. My team was bowling against my cousins' team, but my team only won the first game, so you may think my accomplishment rang hollow, but I was glad that my cousins had something to take out of the night as well, so, all-in-all, it was a fun night.
I got a photo of my cousins' team after bowling tonight, and that has been uploaded to my regular blog's "scrapbook" page.

Well, our last place team is really showing that we belong with the big guys. We only took 7 points of 27 in our first 3 weeks. Since then, we have been on a tear. Tonight we were in 5th, and took all 9 points again. Hope all the top teams play each other, so we can gain on them. My teammate bowled his second 900 series in a row. He really loves his Lane Masters Sting. As for me, an average 800 night. Just under average. But, we had fun.

Richie,
I am amazed sometimes at how I bowl out of my head and we lose and other times when I am way below my average and we win all four games. You just never know.

First off I got back from Vegas Monday Morning and I broke even last night there i won to brake even but either way was fun trip. Plus i had the rest of the week off from work so decided to get some extra practice in while i had the chance.
Last two week i been bowling sub par 530 series not up to par on how i would like to bowl. So comming into to tonight i just wanted make good shots and not worry so much about the score board.
In practice was pretty lost couldnt find a line. I was undecided what ball i should use so i went with my gut and used my Resurgence.
Game 1 - First two frames still trying to find a line. I spared both frmaes and 3rd frame found a line i could play. i got a 4 bagger left 4 pin in the 7th frame. Then doubled 8th and 9th and left 4 pin in 10th spared that left 7 pin in fill frame for a 225.
Game 2 - I started off lost i was just comming in light Frame 1-5 i was lost but left makeable spares. Frame 6 changed starting position and speeed adjustment (slower) and found the pocket. 5 Bagger and left 4 pin in fill frame in the 10th and spared that for a 229. CLEAN GAME
Game 3 - I started off with two spares. Then struck in the 3rd and left 10 pin in 4th and then doubled. 7th left the 7-4 and spared it. Moved two boards to left and turkeyed and left 10 pin in fill frame and wiffed it for a 225.
Over all 225-229-225 = 679 only two opens the whole series.
Team wise won 2nd and 3rd game and total pins for 5 our of 7 points.

Hey Brandon, you won your last night at Vegas, and you bowl 679 on you next night. You are on a roll. Buy a lottery ticket or go to the race Track quickly.

Nice bowling Brandon,Looks like the extra practice paid off for you.
Dennis, I did take note of your teamates success with his new "Sting". I inquired about one with my ball driller she says they are about 20-50 dollars more, but they DO last longer. A fair trade off in my opinion. I'll get one before the fall/winter seson starts.

I did not fair well again last night on the PBA league. I was spraying the ball all over the lane. I reluctantly decided to put the wrist brace back on and started to have a better outcome, actually stringing a few strikes, and picking up some of my spares.....ALL IN THE SAME GAME! WHEW.. My session with my coach tomorrow could not come soon enough.
Recap: Good set! 789 for 4 games, this was the last week of the Scorpion. I felt comfortable on the lanes. I made adjustments when they were called for, I had confidence in my shots, and I executed well enough that it didn't take me 4 or 5 frames to read the lanes after a switch, which has been a problem for me. Downside: I missed 4 of 8 single pin spares. Made all my other makeable spares though, including stuff like a 1-2-7-10.
I took some video of a few frames, I'll probably post it when I get my camera out of my vehicle later.
