A couple of months ago there was a conversation about how to determine the final RG and Diff for a ball given it's specifications and your chosen Pin to Pap distance. Thanks go to Brian Longo and cgeorg for explaining the equation in that thread (if you are interested in reading it go here http://www.bowlingcommunity.com/b/ubbthreads.php/topics/52664/Re_Laying_balls_out.html#Post52664
With that info I have created an excel file that will do all the math automatically and present it in a nice way (as nice as my non-Excel brain can figure out). I have attached it here for anyone who might be interested in using it (had to zip it as the forum won't accept xls files).
I do have one question for Brian or cgeorg...I noticed the other day when inputing some numbers that I ended up with a higher Diff being computed than the ball had in it's specifications. I have read that you can actually raise the Diff in some situations (according to Mo with balance holes), but wasn't sure if this was possible to do from a layout by itself. Do I need to set a cap on the computed Diff so that it doesn't go higher than the original specifications, or is this normal?
