2day I got me the ogre pearl drilled, and shot a 244 first game then a 179 and a 213, for a 636 series. pretty good for first time throwing it. Got the cell about 4 weeks ago, not sure which one i like more but they are both really good balls.

Purple or SS? I've had the Purple Ogre for a year and love it, but I'm going up in weight now so I either need to get a new one, or just move on frown .

the purple one. Its an awsome ball, and carrys really well. I had eight in a row, during my 244 game. With 2 splits in there. But the rotogrip cell is a really good ball also, I would recommend that ball to anyone, but its for heavy oil, but does really good on dry, and medium also.

I would have never been throwing 14 lbs if my fit was right. I owned several 15s and 16s when I went from thumbless to using my thumb. The Pro Shop that drilled several of them didn't know I was bowling thumbless and drilled it expecting me to use my thumb but apparently it was stretched. After a couple of months of using the thumb I had wrist problems, and being a drywall finisher not having my hand and wrist hurting is a must. Thats when I made a wholesale change to 14 lbs and used them for right around 2 years before I found a good Pro Shop that fit the ball right. I've been thinking of moving up in weight for the past half a year but with the pain I was having with 14s with the bad fit it wasn't going to be a good thing. Now the main adjustments will be moving the thumb pitch forward when I'm ready for that.

I also just noticed that you have a birthday cake next to your name RotoGrip. I'm going to assume its your birthday so Happy Birthday.

I have tried lighter equipment in the past, and I always found myself over controlling it, and creating a whole new world of bad habits.

I dropped from 16 to 15 and other than throwing rockets for a while, it wasn't a bad transition.

Touche'

I tried a 15 last Summer. Used it a few times, and promptly gave it away.

Actually it was free, it was just following through from the bottom of the swing that caused it. My swing is pretty free from push away to the top of the back swing and then descending on it's own. If my feet get fast though, I do have a tendency to try and pull the ball through for the last half of the down swing.

What got me is that now I don't feel like a follow through at all, even though I do. If I feel like I am, I'm throwing the ball to hard.
