Way to go CG!

X % = 43% 19 of 44 with only one Brooklyn strike thumbsup
Pocket % = 61% 27 of 44
Carry % = 70% 19 of 27
XX%= 55% 5 of 9
Power Rating = 168

Spare % = 68% 15 of 22
Single pin \ % = 81% 9 of 11
makable \ % = 88% 15 of 17
Split % = 0% 0 for 4
Multi pin \ % = 85% 6 of 7
Advanced bowler rating = pr + makable \% + split% = 256

Everything looks much better than last week, the biggest improvement was in Pocket % that is what kept your spares makable, only 4 splits this week and more single pin spares to shoot at this week. Very good cg keep up the good work.

CG, your scoring layout is really informative. Great job. Now, can't you calculate CoachJim's data from your input?

You may have a salable product there. I'd love to get that as a printout after each night.

It's still a work in progress... Hope to have something publicly available soon. If it weren't for that stupid day job... anyone want to sponsor me?

I like the scoring presentation as well.

Concerning the 2-4-10 split where you get the 4-10, I thought I was the only one that did stuff like that. I mean missing the leading pin, but getting the others. Here I thought I was special like that, lol.

cg I like the other format for the tenth frame better where it is all in one frame score wise, showing 3 frames gets confusing when counting spares when it is a fill ball it looks like you missed the spare, I had to go back and recalculate, I like everything else about it especially the pins that is pretty cool.

Sorry, no update to the 10th frame format yet. Hopefully pre-calculated stats make up for it. White pin means left on first ball, red pin means left on second ball.

Last night on the Cheetah. Position round as far as lane assignments go, even though points are based on the whole field. 1st place was a lefty, pretty out of reach. 2 3 and 4, all righties, myself included, all playing outside. We were separated by 2.5 points I think. Each game and series were worth up to 15 points, so there was a lot of room for some big swings. I was in 3rd.

Overall Stats
Games 4
Average 178
Power Rating 125
Advanced Bowler Rating 235

First Ball Stats
First Balls Thrown 44
First Ball Average 8.5
Pocket Shots 27 61.4%
Strikes 20 45.5%
Carry 19 43.2%
Double 7 36.8%
Target Hit 30 68.2%
Average Miss 1.3 boards

Second Ball Stats
All Spares 13/22 59.1%
Single Pin 9/12 75.0%
Multi Pin 3/8 37.5%
Splits and Washouts 1/2 50.0%

4th and 2nd were switched by the end of game 3. I was still in 3rd, up over 4th by a decent bit. After game 4, I ended up in 4th by 4 points. The guy that took second shot a 901 on the night, 209 209 215 268. The last game was X, 81, X out.

I'm happy with the first game, aside from those shots in 5 and 6 where I tugged the ball. Wasn't just letting it go. I'm fine with the second game, except that stupid missed 6 pin. 3rd game could have been so good if I had picked up those spares. Also lost a point guttering on the fill, 5 pins would have put me over another guy. Game 4... I was not in a good mental state by then. Overall, I'd say I had some concentration lapses (free coors light), and I used the VP2 for 3.5 games. I was feeling the physical effects of 16 lbs.

On to the next shortest pattern, Viper. Surfaces? Going to demo days in 2.5 hours, so I may have a couple more options when I get back smile I will be looking at the Cell and a replacement for the VP2. I am thinking the Cell can be my duller, smoother ball, and I can take the One series balls to higher grits, polishes etc, to make the most of them.

If I do get the Cell while there, what do you guys (Jim) think for drilling? I am leaning to pin under ring finger. I grabbed the tool in the Pro Shop while I was in there today and measured my Ones. Big one is 50 degrees for both, 5 1/2" pin. Infinite was closer to 30 pin-pap-Val, 40 pap-pin-MB and 4"

Not a horrible night, but if we ever bowl for money, don't let me forget to buy you a bunch of coors lights.

When figuring double % it is the number of opportunities to double a string of strikes only count as one opportunity, so in the first game for example you went 1 for four a 300 would be 1 for 1, not 12 for 12, for the night you were 3 for 13 for 23%.

The viper has the least amount of oil of any of the patterns, and also needs to be played fairly straight. You would do well to take everything to finer grits and polish. If you get something at the Storm open house, try to get something shiny and drilled fairly weak, 5 1/2" to 6" pin 70 degrees pin to pap 90 degrees mb placement no weight hole for now if possible.

As for the Cell get that one drilled strong for the shark 4" pin 20 to 30 degrees from val to pin and 30 degrees from pap to mb with weight hole on mb. This drilling will allow the ball to make a bigger move in a shorter area for longer patterns.

What would that Cell drilling end up looking like on house type patterns? Would I be able to use it outside 5 on the scorpion? The reason I was thinking pin down was so that it would get into a roll earlier on those longer patterns, and be ready to make its move right when it hit the dry... Wrong thinking?

Also, one thing I did not note above, is that I took both Ones to 2000 on the spinner since I knew it would be drying up faster.

In this article, it sounds like every strike after a strike is a double, no matter what happened before:

http://bowlingknowledge.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=36&Itemid=51

It also looks like advanced rating is all spare % + split %, not just makable spare + split.

Looks like I was doing carry% out of all shots too, not pocket shots. Fixed that. One big thing I notice is that I never really missed by more than 2 boards. I hit my target almost 70% of the time, and when I missed, the average was 1.3. I don't record anything less than 1 board, so I missed by 1 board more often than not. Even with as bad as some of the games felt, I probably would have been at 220 avg on a house shot.

ABR has to be makable /% not all spare % because all spare % counts splits as well so they are double counted and splits drive down your spare % since they are not makable most of the time it is not worth figuring them into the total spare %. Washouts are considered makable spares.

Week one stats: X % = 38.6% 17 of 44 pocket strikes
pocket % = 38.6% same as x %
carry % = 82.3 % 14 of 17
Double % = 30% 4 of 13
Power rating = 151.2 of a possible 300 Power rating = X% + XX% + c%

Spare % = 48% 12 of 25
Split conversion 0% 0 for 5
makable spare %= 60% 12 of 20
single pin spare % = 85.7% 6 of 7
makable multi pin spare % = 46.1% 6 for 13

Week two stats:

X % = 43% 19 of 44
Pocket % = 61% 27 of 44
Carry % = 70% 19 of 27
XX%= 55% 5 of 9
Power Rating = 168

Spare % = 68% 15 of 22
Single pin \ % = 81% 9 of 11
makable \ % = 88% 15 of 17
Split % = 0% 0 for 4
Multi pin \ % = 85% 6 of 7
Advanced bowler rating = pr + makable \% + split% = 256

Week 3 stats:

First ball Stats
First balls Thrown 44
First ball Average 8.5
Pocket Shots 27 61.4%
Strikes 20 45.5%
Carry 19 of 27 for 70%
Double 3 of 13 for 23%
Target Hit 30 68.2%
Average Miss 1.3 boards

Second ball Stats
All Spares 13/22 59.1%
Single Pin 9/12 75.0%
Multi Pin 3/8 37.5%
Splits and Washouts 1/2 50.0%
makeable / % = 13 of 21 = 61%

Cheetah pattern results:

X % = 56 of 132 for 42.3%
XX% = 12 of 35 for 34.2%
Pocket % = 71 of 132 = 53.8%
carry % = 52 of 71 = 73.2%
Power rating = X% + XX% + C% =149.7

Spare % = 40 of 69 = 57.9%
Single pin spare% = 24 of 30 = 80%
multi pin spare%= 15 of 28 = 53.5%
split % = 1 of 11 = 9%
makable / % = 25 of 48 = 52%

Advanced bowler rating = power rating + makeable spare % + Split conversion % = 149.7 + 52+ 9 = 210.7
