mike, great bowling, and hope the health issues work out ok.
my monday might league was a stinker for sure! granted, i have a 145 avg, but i managed to wow the house with a strong 408 3 game series!!! ugh!
seems the arrows on the floor were moving around [or was it my eyes and arm?] i couldn't hit a mark if you had a gun to my head, was pretty dismal really. sad part is, i KNEW what i needed to do, i just couldn't make myself do it.
it's funny in a way, everyone that bowls this league says the same thing every week, the pattern was tough, couldn't find a line, etc., BUT i think possibly due to my ignorance of lane conditions, all i need to do IS hit my mark, and the ball reacts the same everytime. when i think about it, it cracks me up, my approach is the same, timing is good [feels good], get the same rev's on the ball, but cannot concentrate long enough to hit a target 15 feet from me.
i think next week, i'll tie a string around my head, down to my waist, so i can only lift my head high enough to see the arrows.
overall, i think for me, the monday night 5 man league is just too late/long for me to bowl decent. the more i think about it, i think i'm just tired from work, and about 1/2 way thru the second game, i start watching the clock.....i figure it's more a mental thing than anything else.

tbill,
I can relate to you. My concentration has been really bad for months now and I just can't seem to get it together. I have missed my mark by a full 5 to 7 boards at times. I used to really be focused and I try to be but it just does not seem to work.

well, ironic thing for me is, when i bowl early in the day [ 3 of us bowl once a week during lunch, and i bowl with my family on saturday afternoon] i do well.
lunch bowling is usually 30 or so pins over average, and saturday afternoon [at different house, with what others say is a tougher shot, and many beverages] is usually 20 pins better.
my old a$$ must just get tired, and the concentration goes out the window.

What am I doing? My swing around my back returned tonight. And, I had a devil of a time trying to stop it. It just appeared again, and I don't know why. But, I do know about it, and can work on getting rid of it. This time, it took me more than the usual couple of frames. Actually, I lost the whole first game. Shot a 150 with 5 opens.
Started the second game with 2 opens in 3 frames. Then decided to change balls and move to the outside with speed. And, there it was. Ran the table from the 6th on for a 231. The third game started the same way, open and a split/open. Then ran the table from the 6th again for 228 and a 609. Not very satisfying, but at least I came back.
We bowled a team that was right behind us and only got 3 points. The last game, my 228 was the 5th high on the lanes. Four higher games for the other team.

I started out a little slow Wed. night. I began the night using my Black Widow Bite, but had to put it away..it was just too much ball for this night. I kept getting spilts and had trouble hitting the pocket consistantly. I used my pearl particle Roto-Grip Mystic the rest of the night, and salvaged the next two games...going 184, 213, 203 for an even 600. We took two games and totals so it was a productive night team wise. I take some satisfaction in recognizing that I needed to change balls, and I had some success when I did. Usually I try to force the ball, and the results are never good when you do that.

Nice going with your 600's Dennis and Eraser.
I hope I can add to that tonight and be a part of the 600 club :-)
