position night, we started the night 2 game ahead in 1st. Only lost the 2nd game so we made our first place Solid. I didn't help the team much at all, another night of bad carry. Only strikes I seemed to got was with messengers killing the 10. ANOTHER 599 night...ARRGGGGG!!!

Oh well, I'm looking foward to sweepers and making more $$$

I rolled the ball well last night but didn't score well. 194, 171, 179 on the Shark. If I would have picked up a few more of my easy spares, the series would have been much higher. As a team, we lost all 7 points. We started the night in 5th place and ended on 8th. Spots 1-3 were separated by 1.5 points and 4-9 by 6 points. Oh well. We get our money next week. On to the House China league for the Fall/Winter.

I ended the league with a 588 series, just 3 under my average, but I did have a 204 last game, which is not a bad way to end the season, especially considering my first game in the league was a 143. Team split the 8 points with our opponents, but I do know we at least stay in 5th place, and we possibly move up to 4th if the team in 4th going into the night got swept. I'm really pleased with how I did this summer, both personally and as a team. Joy will be moving out of the area for her summer home next year, but I hope to bowl with Brian and Ralph again down the road. laugh

Payout night is next week, and my team may be getting some extra cash, as a 958 game with handicap that we posted early in the season will likely hold up as high game with handicap. My fall/winter league meeting is next week, as well, so I'll be sticking around after payouts for that.

We ended our Weds night league by getting slaped for all 7 points. I rolled 235-212-231 but it wasnt enough to take league high average as the guy I was tied with rolled 729. Just one of those nights, hats off to him and another Summer league is in the books.

I ended up with a 212 average, high game of 279 and only 2 700s (704 and 707). Not one of my better Summers but not bad either. That 478 series on hat terrible condition a few weeks back sunk me. No excuses I can't have weeks like that no matter whats out there or this is the end result. More fuel for the fire to get better. One week of rest then it's back to the grind.

The Wed Nite Trio ended tonight. We were in a three way tie for 4th, but placed 5th on pin count. So, we bowled the 6th team and won 7. the other tied team lost all 9. So, we ended 4th.

Next week is payout and sweepers. I think I will take a week off. I finished about 204 for the 16 weeks. Take the money home and buy gas.

Games tonight were 238, 222, 202, and 198 for 860 Series.

I rolled a 245, a 191 and a 168 (sum: 604), for a personal high game and series since returning to the game. We took all four games and pulled ourselves out of last place (knockdowns). I left 5 open frames, two of which should have been easy. I finished the league with 39 games, 8 between 175 and 200, 8 above 200 and 1 above 600. My average was 170, up two pins from the first week.

My goal for next season is to have 9 175 games, 9 200 games and 2 600 series (out of 39).

Way to go, Dennis. That's some solid, solid bowling.

LudoMon, good job on the 604. That's what my high series is, as well.

Thanks, eastwest. The best part about that 245 was that I went into the game cold. We found a rabbit nest in our yard when we were mowing the lawn so we had to get them out of the yard and we were late to bowling. (Typically, rabbits do better when you leave them alone. But I have a rottie that kills them, even though he only has 3 legs and a slew of cancer-related issues).

eastwest, thanks.

Ludo, that's kind of gruesome. I have a Lab who has caught rabbits and squirrels. But, he holds them with his paws and barks for me to get them. I just say, "Leave it", and he lets them go. He gets rewarded for that.

Train all my hunting dogs that way. No fun trying to cook a gnawed up catch.
