I am currently reading Focused for Bowling by Dean Hintz. It is totally about the mental aspect of the game so don't look for help with your mechanics in this book.

I am really enjoying reading this book. I borrowed it from my local library and will probably end up buying it sometime down the road. It is the kind of book that you can read now and pick up again later to reinforce what you have read.

You don't have to be a high average bowler to benefit from this book -- you can take as much from the book as applies to your own situation.

Bowling Execution is a good book which I own.

Bill Taylor's Fitting and Drilling a Bowling Ball is another good book for getting your ball to fit right.

Its out of print, but The Bowlers Manual by Lou Bellisimo is also excellent for basic fundamentals. Lou was the coach for the University of Oregonin the late 50's to the mid to late 70's. He was on the same level as Bill Taylor as far as teaching bowling. The last revision of his book was in the early to mid 80's... and for ovious reasons there will not be anymore revisions....

Scores are all relative to the scoring pace of the lane condition. This means if everyone and thier brother is striking, you better strike, if no one is stringing strikes, keep the ball in play and make your spares.

I started with a book that could have been used for a college bowling class. I covers the basics in the classic, older style. After learing that, I purchased Bowling Execution by John Jowdy. It's a great follow up to the first book. He also gives you the proper Execution, but then follows it up with the styles the pros use (which are apparently all exceptions to the rule!)

The book by Michelle Mullen is very good. I happen to live in the Detroit area and am lucky enough to have Michelle as my coach. The book is easy to follow and quite informative. thumbsup

Ya know, I've never subscribed to anything but I receive 2 bowling mags a month. I wonder about that...

But yeah, I think I should get more popular mags.
