The Scorpion will give you a tail that you didn't know you had. But, seems like you made a good adjustment.

Also sounds like your lanes used a reverse order of the patterns than most have. Scorpion and Cheetah usually lead off around here.

Have fun on the Cheetah with only 35 feet of oil. Get the ball out.

I had a very respectable if not spectacular night. Everything was back to normal as far as Brooklyn hits. I only crossed over 4 times all night and got one strike out of it. I was fairly accurate but the pocket was a little touchy and I hit high more than I would have liked too. I started very slow again with 3 splits but actually made the 4-6-7-9-10. I finished with a 530 (167, 180, 183). It was a tough night but I fought through and came out close to averaging 180 so I am pretty pleased. My entire team was pretty much at or above average on all games but the other team just crushed us as 2 of their bowlers went way above their averages. So we lost all 4 and back to .500 we go (22-22). Four weeks left so looks like we will have to settle for the middle of the pack.

We go in alphabetical order, moving to the next pattern in line every week.

We go longest to shortest, then start over again and end with 2 championship patterns. US Open and World Championship patterns IIRC.

Since, the league was 16 weeks, each pattern was put down for 3 straight weeks, with an alternate night for practice. This gave all bowlers plenty of time to learn the lanes and make whatever adjustments were needed.

My team moved up one place (to 8th) in the standings this week thanks to our 6 point night, but there's no real opportunity to gain any more ground on teams ahead of us until maybe the position round, as my team faces teams currently behind us in the standings the last 2 weeks before the position round. If we're to move up before the end of the season, we're going to need help.

Richie, this actually is a favorable place to be in. While you face the lower part of the league, the teams ahead of you may be playing each other. So, just win your points and let the others split. You could move up more than you think.

I was just waiting for your post, as this one too.

Chances are, you will get some help somewhere. If the other don't split, and one takes all points, take care of your own business, and you should move up.

All you can do is take care of yourown games.

Richie, 7 weeks ago, we were 20 of 20. We are now 4th, a couple out of 3rd, but 12 out of first. No. 1 bowls No. 2 next week, and No, 2 bowls No. 3 the following.

We bowl a lower team, then the first place team. If things work out for the best, and we do our job against the first place team, we could face them 2 weeks in a row. Once on the regular schedule, and on the final position night. It will be fun to see it play out.
