To my untrained eyes it looks like you could be muscling the ball. You cut off the follow through which comes across your body on several shots which could mean you are trying too hard to hook the ball. You could also benefit from slowing your approach down some, keeping the trail leg down which will result in better balance and stop the "bouncing" up on release.

Good reply Cal, you are developing a good coaching eye.

I agree with everything Cal said, you are muscling the swing and trying to hook the ball too much. If you stop trying to hook the ball and just relax and let the ball swing your arm the ball will actually hook more with a higher rev rate.

Your posture at the foul line is a little too bent from the waist, you should have your shoulders behind your knees at the release, if you are bending forward past that you are releasing the ball into the lane which is causing you to pull out of your follow through.

Last but not least, welcome to the site.

Thanks Jim. Yesterday afternoon I was helping a friend/teammate try to figure out a few things he has been doing wrong and I guess some of it carried over. Now if he could just get his video camera to communicate with a computer I could make a video and post one of me.
