Hey guys, as some of you may already know I've got a messed up rib. Which unfortunately I can't bowl as much since resting the weight of the bowling ball on my left hand tends to hurt really bad. I was wondering if any of you might have some ideas for me to keep up with my approach and what not, to stay in "bowling shape"? I'll still bowl my usual two games on Sunday's in the adult/youth league, but that's about it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe the pain is trying to tell you something. Maybe you should give yourself time to heal as you could prolong your injury to the point where come September you still would have a problem with your rib. Also, in trying to bowl with an injury it is possible to develop bad habits while trying to compensate for the pain.

I was gonna say the same thing: maybe the best idea is to rest a while and give it a chance to heal.

Make that 3 votes for resting until it heels. You will probably develop more bad habits trying to avoid pain.

I knew I would be tempted so I gave away all of my gear except for some old stuff. I will start out tossing old gear and see what equipment I need from there, but it is very hard giving people lessons and not being able to bowl. I could hardly walk today after taking my new puppy for a long walk, so I still have a long way to go, you will be back long before me. I already have a sub set up for league next season.

That's too bad, CoachJim... At least you've been smart with it and have not tried to push it. Hopefully you'll be able to get back out there soon! What kind of puppy did ya get?

Chow Shepard mix, cutest little thing, and uses it to her advantage too, I will end up with the dog equivalent of Paris Hilton except my dog is smarter than her right now. wink
