Blah, had another off week. I hoped the slump was over after bowling a 206 in my last game last week... Well this wasn't the case, as I bowled a 159, 167, and 156. I closed out the 10th in the second game with a turkey to save my average for that game lol. I think I was dropping my shoulder as I got a lot of double bounces upon release. At least as a team we finally had a winning night, taking 6 out of 8 points! So hopefully that gets us back in the running as we still were only 14 points behind the first place team, being in 13th place. Hopefully I'll get my thumb saver early this week so I can get some practice games in before I decide to use it on league! I hope everyone else had a better league night than I did! Good luck and high scores, lets have ourselves a good week!

On my spares I think it was just targeting the wrong spot for the most part. I think for the 10 pin I normally target around 16-17 at the arrows and I'm pretty sure I was looking inside of 20 for some reason. As for the using two different balls, I've done it several times with success, when even changing the line on one lane wouldn't work with the one ball. This weekend the left lane just started to have more of a reaction with the ball I started with and different adjustments just brought me in light. I probably should have just made a wholesale change from the Ogre to the Radical, I could play a similar line on both lanes with it and stay in the pocket or run just a pinch high. Well its off to bowl, I was asked to sub for someone tonight, so hopefully I can have a better outing this time around.

Well it was a short trip to the center. I get there and find out its position night, and only roster bowlers with X amount of games could bowl. Even if it wasn't the case I think I still might not have been able to bowl it looks like the league might have some dress code rules, such as pants and shirts with sleeves and I normally bowl in shorts and a muscle shirt. If I get asked again I'll go in a pair of pants and a better shirt just in case. I can bowl in them, I've done it with my work pants, I just like to make sure I don't start to get too hot.

Guarantee you wouldn't wear that today where I live. Temperature with the wind chill was +5 degrees.

Our league has a dress code also, mainly with shirts. Must be collared polo type or buttoned bowling shirts. No T's, tanks or Muscle shirts.
We have slackened off on the slacks since so many wanted to wear shorts.

Well of what I saw, several people had jeans so I don't think it has to be slacks, but did mainly see collared polo type shirts. I have no issue if a league has a rule like that and will abide by it. I wish there was more leagues like that, but until then I'll wear my shorts and sleeveless shirts.

As for that guarantee is no guarantee when it comes to me going bowling. I've walked out in 6 inches of snow with 20 mph winds at 32 degrees. Once I'm in my truck or the bowling center the wind as no effect on me, and I can take the walk between the two with no problem. I've always been able to take the cold, or either extreme for the matter.

Many of the higher leagues do have dress codes, but as I said, mainly for shirts. They go by tournament rules which require that type. One league I know of requires your name on the back.

You should move to Rocklin, CA. Todays high was 65 here! They let us wear anything to league.

Tuesday (tomorrow night) is the final position round of my 15 week Fall league. We're now tied for 2nd. The 2 teams tied for 1st play each other. In order for my team to take first, we have to win all 4 AND the teams tied for first have to split it 2/2.

I'm off to practice now for a couple hours. Will try for a repeat performance tomorrow of 33 above average like last week. Thats all I can do -- whether we end up in 1st or not depends on other teams now.

I sometimes feel "overdressed" when I bowl. I wear my bowling shirt which is basically a polo shirt and dressier (Docker type) pants. They are looser fitting and more comfortable. The majority of the other league bowlers wear T-shirts and blue jeans. I just can't bowl in jeans, they are too restricting.

No dress codes at any of the leagues at my house, whether it's a fun league or the top level leagues. As for me around this time of year, I wear t-shirts and jeans, but only a few pairs of jeans that I own that are rather baggy and loose fitting. No matter what, I can never bowl in a long sleeve shirt, I find that to be too uncomfortable.
