Sorry to hear about the injury Dennis. Hope you have a speedy recovery, and are able to make the Nationals. I did almost the exact same thing last week of bowling, a teamate left his bag behind me, I backed up and tripped, but somehow managed not to hit the floor. Not sure how I managed to stay upright...glad I did though.

With the splint on, I get better support. The problem of pain came whenever I would bend the left wrist. Pick up a ball two handed. Support the ball on presentation. Wave the balance arm to the side. My thumb is limited in movement.

I find, this morning I can at least move my fingers with the splint on, like to type. But, the thumb is swollen.

In case you don't know where the carpometacarpel joint is, follow your thumb bones back to the wrist, the next joint is it.

I think it will be OK by Sat. It's only a little fracture.

Did you ever bowl one handed? really screws up your delivery. Strongarm everything.

Dennis:

Watch Wayne Webb. He put his arm on his right leg and bumped it in the air to get it moving. It may work to get a little momentum.

Bob Learn also uses no left hand support. Wasn't Marshall Holman the same way?

Marshal Holman would bend at the waist and had his left hand supporting the ball from the front of the ball, he would then push the ball forward with his first right foot step then take the left hand off the ball and let it drop into the swing. I tried bowling like this for a while back in the early 80s since I didn't have a clue how to bowl and the only coaching I had was watching the tour on tv.

Others have done it. But, I contend, it took a lot of practice. Making this change from game 1 to game 2 had NO success.

I just tried to use my normal stance and delivery. But, supporting the entire weight of the ball in 1 hand didn't allow me to relax my arm and swing freely. Then, as my left arm would extend for balance, every movement was painful, and disturbing. Tried holding my arm at my side, and I fell off to the right repeatedly.

I really shouldn't have bowled.

I'm sorry you hurt your wrist Dennis, I hope you can still bowl the Nationals, but I'm sure you are like me and would tough it out and deal with the pain later. It may take several weeks for it to get better.

So sorry to hear about that Dennis. Hopefully you can adjust this weekend if it continues to give you problems.

Sorry to hear about the wrist Dennis. This is a prime example of why I try to keep my bag against a wall or ball rack or anywhere out of the walking paths even when changing balls. I've almost taken myself out with mine.

Lets just say much better than last week. But still have somethings to work on. This summer really work on my game and see how much i can improve.

Game 1 i had the pocket this game should of been much better than it turned out. I left 3 1 pin spares 10 pin, 6 pin, and 9 pin. I missed them all ouch! That about 33+ pins i gave away and take make matter worse left 1-2-4-10 and couldnt covert. Game 1 = 179.

Game 2 a lot better only 1 open 9 pin ended up with 225.

Game 3 bottom feel off was going in very high only had 2 strikes this game. I left the 10-6-7 twice and missed 10 pin. I didnt have enought strikes to recover. Had too many multi pin spares and only could manage a 156.

179-225-156=560 That about 68 pins better than last week. I bowled my average.

Team wise we managed to win 1 game and lost 1st and 2nd game and total pins. The rest of my team mates all bowled under 500. Last four weeks my team hasnt been able to hold me up when i bowl bad or im unable to make up the pins when there off.

I need to really practice my spares and tune up my spare games those missed spares are pretty much killing me.
