Nice series Brandon almost a six. It's good to win those close matches
After having a pretty decent Friday league I lost it Monday. I think I was around 470 series. Lanes dried out and I kept chopping through the head pin again. Still experimenting with my release without a wrist support. It's amazing how much I can change my reaction just with a little different wrist positioning. It seems I do very well on medium to oily conditions playing the right side or center of the lane. It's once the lanes dry out and I have to move left of center I struggle. Still hope for a 600 tonight I think I'll go in early and practice before league.

Greetings to all. It looks like the high scores are a bit cyclic at the moment... it is a little frustrating when you know you can score well but it just will not quite work for you some nights! Last week, my son and I went to the lanes (Sunday morning) and bowled three games of practice each then bowled a serious head to head series of three.. result was predictable but I managed 617 series (my first) with 230, 176 and 211 but son rolled 233, 230 and 251 for 714.. oh well, I was pleased with my series anyway. On Tuesday we bowled in our Summer Doubles and I couldn't get it right at all! Four games (167 average) with a high of 189, low of 138 (I think) and series of 669 - only 50 odd pins up on the three games series a couple of days previously! Back to the drawing board, more practice.. it will get there eventually. Keep up the good work, guys and I look forward to your posts and progress reports. Cheers, Allan

Boy is it cold down here this week. Well another league night finished on Thursday. Position week was hopping to win all the games and keep our team strek going but it was broke we only took 1 out of 3.
Well as of my bowling the pins just didnt want to carry last night first game had 198 with one open frame missed a 8 pin a mental mistake knew it once i relased the ball. Second game was my wrost game was doing good until i hit the 7th frame then four straight opens. Missed the 8 pin again, then choped 4-10, and then changed ball and i threee a gutter ended up with 8 count then change back to same ball and left a 8-10 split. So that game just fell apart and ended up with 149. I think i just got too fast on spares and needed to slow down i relized that way after. So second game was determined. I started off with same ball i started off the night with just moved left since the lanes where drying up. I shot a 205 with no opens. I just could could not string a bunch of strikes in since it was not carrying that good last night i dont how many 8 and 9 pins i left and 4-10 i left. Over all shot a 552. It was a terrible night or spectacular but still shot over my average and bumped it up 1 pin.
I jsut got remember to slow down on spare shot and take my time so i can be more consitant.

Well, I did bowl practice on Tuesday. If you recall, I bowled 570 last Friday and 576 on Monday. Both walking like Herman Munster after my injury to my hip. Well, since it was going on 4 weeks since my injury, and I did manage to bowl twice, I tried to get into my slide more. I have been exercizing and going to therapy, and I can squat on my hip. So, I tried to stretch the slide.
It was great, strike, 8pin-spare, strike, strike, strike, strike, strike, uh oh. Hip pain!! Not a bad one, but enough to make me quit. Packed up and went home. Called the team and backed off on Wednesday league. Didn't bowl as a sub tonight either. I'll wait til Monday and try the Herman routine. Then, maybe, I can get back on Wednesday. I have missed 3 weeks there, and I miss it. This is frustrating. Will all of you please, bowl well so I can feal good about you, at least.

Focus, focus, focus and just a little luck. I shot 228-187-268 for a 683 series. The middle game had a missed 10 pin the 3 splits in a row the last being a pocket 7-10, no luck! Seems if I get left I leave splits, it's all or nothing. The last game I had the front 8 and left a solid 7 pin to end the 300 run. I feel as though I'm in a groove and if I have a chance at a 300 it'll be within the next few weeks or as long as this streak lasts. Over 12 games I'm averaging 238 and that's with at least one 180-192 game in 3 of the 4 series. I'm enjoying bowling like I did back in the Summer.
As a team we took 3 of 4 losing the first game by 17 pins. The anchor bowler on our team shot 694, I think we are going to have a strong 2nd half.

Well another league night. I just say i survived it. Seemed the lanes were flooded tonight that what everyone was saying. You couldnt really play the outside. We had players play inside or direct. THe first game i tried to play outside with terrible restults i shot a 142. Then Second game i played a more dirrect shot up the 2 arrow. First shot split, second shot split the 4-7-10. I was like what the hell and just shot hard and straihg tat 7-4 and you know what i picked the [censored] thing up, 4-7-10! I was like Wow maybe i turn it around. Though the last frame made a mental mistake got fast and pulled the ball to end up with 181. Second game was good shota 195 though i split in foundation frame and opened. I still got my average so didnt go up and down. I shota 518 to survied the night. My whole team didnt do that good tonight we ended up getting sweeped.

To Mike: Wow that's some great shooting, keep it up.
Sounds like everyone else is in a bit of a slump. I have been too but it seems things are starting to roll uphill again. Only got a 530 last week but that's still a bit above my average (not much - only a few pins) and I ended with a 204. I hit a lot of strikes but they were alternating frames, seems thats been happening a lot lately.
My 3rd game has consistently be the best and thats when I remind myself to just walk normal to the line. I think when I don't do that I have too many pauses and adjustments mid-approach. I'm going to try and start with this mindset from the beginning and hopefully be back to post about my first 600 in the last 3 months. With tournament season around the corner (2 next month and 1 the month after) it's time to start heating up.

Great shooting Mike. Frostbreath.. nice to see you back and back into winning ways... cool! Looks like the rest of us are having to work hard to stay around our averages... my last outing (Summer Doubles) wasn't too bad. My average in this league is 156 and my scores for the four games were 151, 155, 157 and 160 (156 av). I bowled well all night without getting the results that I would have liked. Lanes were oily with a lot of carry-down which placed a premium on accuracy. Mine was as good as I have ever been but I blew a lot of holes in full racks... wow, I have never had so many splits! Forunately, I was able to convert quite a few of them (as I said, my accuracy was good that night) to recover to reasonable scores. Not a worry... next week is another go at improving. Keep up the good work, folks, and good bowling to all. Allan
