Greetings all. Congrats, Dennis on your 288 (see The Bowling Gods are against me.) If I ever managed the front 10 I suspect that they would be carting me off in an ambulance (LOL). No matter the final result and the change of lanes, it was still a mighty effort! League last night went well for us, against a team who have wiped the floor with us all year, we took 10.5 of 11 and got ourselves a share of third place. Both teams were one person down, so we shared the half point for the Head to Head but we took everything else - nice! Personally, I managed 153, 168 and 176 (the weekend practice and analysis paid off). My son held us in the game with 206, 217 and 213. Since we have been getting oil on the lanes he has been getting closer to his tournament average most nights. There is very close competition for the 2nd and 3rd places now with the leaders too far away to catch with only one week left to bowl. 2nd to 7th is covered by 4 points, 2nd on 118, 3 - 5 on 117.5, 6 on 117 and 7th on 114. It could go to anyone. We will be without our third member again next week and we bowl the 2nd placed team. I figure we need 10 points to have a good shot at 2nd or 3rd place. Wish us luck and I will let you all know next week. Cheers to all, Allan

Bikedad, Good Luck. If I could, I would sub for your absent bowler. Hopefully to get that half point back. Keep up the effort. After the match on Monday, I walked over to the Blue wall and told it, that it was not going to win, so it may as well leave right now. I waited, and it was still there. The arrogance of that thing. Well, I guess I will just have to teach it a lesson.
Tonight at 7 P.M. The match is on.
Good Luck to you. You are really bunched up. Hope you pull it out.
Lefont, How is your TS&A working? Mine seems a bit dead. Was going to get it resurfaced last week, but the schedule wouldn't allow it. I can only do it on weekends, since it is quite a drive to the Pro Shop. So, I will go another week with it in the bag. Have you ever had it resurfaced?

Thanks for the best wishes Dennis and the offer to sub. You would be most welcome. Trouble is, our league rules say that we cannot use a sub in the last three weeks of competition. I guess that is to stop teams loading up their line-ups when it comes down to a situation like we have. I wish you the very best of luck for tonight and hope that the silly wall has taken the hint and moved on for you. Looking forward to your posts. Cheers to all Allan

The Blue Wall was there. I was feeling good about tonight, but that wall right off my shoulder caused me to pull my arm in the first game, 180. In the second game, I fought the thought of the wall, and did finally get a strike or two, but still pulled my arm for 2 splits, 190. Then a strange thing happened. My wife showed up to encourage me. She listened to me talk about this wall all week, and thought she could help. Gave me a pep talk before game 3, and made me refocus. "256" !!!!!!! The wall is gone.
BEHIND EVERY MAN'S SUCCESS, IS A GOOD WOMAN.

Congratulations Dennis. A fine series and an excellent result. Good to see that The Blue Wall is nothing but a memory now, may it never trouble you again. 626 for the night is not going to hurt your average either! Cheers, Allan

Hello all sorry I haven't posted in so long. Finals time has all but consumed me and I haven't been able to log on.
Well our season ended this past Monday and we went out strong with sweeps in the last 2 weeks. The team is improving and I even got the one guy on the team who wasn't practicing to start doing so and lo and behold he started bowling a little more consistently. It looks as though we're going to keep this team together for the next league and I have to say I'm excited to see where we end up the next time after the steady improvements we've made. I've decided to get another couple coaching lessons and work on my corner pin pickups which have become a very troublesome issue for me over the last couple weeks. I definitely want to improve upon that for the upcoming league as the rest of my spare game is pretty consistent I just for whatever reason cannot get those corner pins. I'm probably going to invest in a spare ball as I've read on here from other topics that it's helped folks out.
Looks like everyone else is bowling very well and if your seasons are still going then best of luck to you.
Brian

Tonight was a night of personal success and losing as a team. We bowled the 1st place team who had 3 people prebowl(2nd time they've done this, they haven't faced us head to head yet). They all shot way over their average and despite a good fight we lost all 4 points.
I managed 3 solid games for a change with my only opens being 2 10 pins by the smallest of margins. I shed the small wrist brace I've been using a crutch, found my old ball position with a cupped wrist and proceeded to have a 9.7 first ball average (235-222-226). My team mate shot 660 and it still wasn't enough, chalk it up to handicap league bowling. Even in losing there's a silver lining, we might get to face them again in position round where they HAVE to face us. I think I found the part of my game I've been missing, it's funny how much easier this game is when you do the things that have made you successful in the past.

My TS&A was doing great up until last week. It seems has died on me. I did clean yesterday and still nothing, so I think it's time for a resurface. I have put a lot of games on it. My Sahara has a bigger hook, go figure. Changing topic; It was good that you defeated the wall on your last game. I'll be bowling the wall next week.
This week was a good week for my teams. We won 7 out of 7 on wednesday and friday. And my team moved up to 11th place in both league (out of 30 teams). The good news is that we have bowled most of the difficult teams already. But then again, you can never underestimate the teams with lots of handicap.
I bowled a 163, 138 and 210 on wednesday. Yes, I was all over the place. I got the 210 when the lanes dried up with my Sahara. And last night I got a 184, 165 and 172. It was not stellar scores but it did the work to help my team win.
