Well, I got it again... that Friday work afternoon bowling itch....
Been going through all the bowling websites (bowlingcommunity.com, bowl.com, pba.com, more) faster than new posts can show up on the message boards. Looking for articles I haven't read... darn it! I'm ready to bowl!!

Our Friday night league went OK, we won four games. I bowled pretty decently 161, 177, 202. Never could really find a flush shot to the pocket that didn't leave a 10 or a 7, but with the exception of a few splits in the first game made my spares and got really lucky a few times that I had several shots that went brooklyn and carried anyway. Bowled much better Saturday morning and Saturday night than I did in league, but I guess thats to be expected.

Oh yeah - forgot to mention the best part about Friday night league - I only bowled one gutter ball. It was the tenth frame of the third and last game, and I struck and left 1 pin on the second ball. So I'm getting ready to bowl my last shot and try and get that one last pin right ? But just as I started the approach I heard them say "177" on the loudspeaker and that was the score I shot on the previous game so I knew I had won the jackpot and I got distracted and tossed it in the gutter!! ha ha ha Well at least it was only one pin left. But I won $32

Heh.. you get jackpots for getting a particular score? They roll dice for the numbers or something? At our alley we do Keglers Cash where you have to strike certain frames based on your average. Last year I netted over $200 profit because my average for some time was under 140. This year with my average hovering from 165-185 I haven't made a dime on it yet.
Friday night was a rough one for me and my team. We lost 3 of 4 again. I bowled my lowest series in months (483), we had a blind bowler, and they had a sub that bowled 30-40 pins over his average per game. The cards were not stacked in our favor.
I could not figure out the lanes for the life of me. Played the first game with my particle. Playing the outside, it had far too much reaction and hit up high on the head pin. Playing the middle, it would skid all the way through the rack. So I switched to my resin (Quantum), and it has even more reaction! This is not normally what I see when I switch from my particle to my resin ball. So the Quantum, I'm forced to play the middle and it does come back, I just never was able to find a consistent mark on both lanes. I think some of it has to do with the fact we were on the last 2 lanes in the house (31 and 32). I've never seen anyone do really well on them.

Hi Guys. I aven't been too active posting anything lately (nuthin to say!) but I went to our League Reformation meeting last night, found that I didn't have any team-mates any more (one overseas, one injured) so I managed to form up with a couple of guys (higher average than myself by a long way) and we are ready to go next week. Good to see that everyone is still sticking with it and making some progress towards being perfect. I will report back when I have something for you. Good bowling, everyone. Allan

Welcome back, we had a nail biter the last game of our series. We took 4 of 5 but the last game was definately something of a cliff hanger. We had a little under 100 pins to make up at the top of the tenth.Other team did their part with minimum marks. My team ...not so much, but we took it. Been a while since I was that on edge, even in my own league.

meh we only won one game tonight. I bowled above my average all games, but we were short one bowler and instead of bowling her blind we got a sub and he bowled well below his average two games in addition to giving the other team a lot more handicap pins lead on us.
I would have bowled better, but I've got a cold and couldn't really think clearly and as a result several times I forgot to adjust and made the same bad shot 2-3 times in a row before I realized to move. Had a little stumble in the one game and left 3-4 frames in a row open from missing easy spares... oh well. My scores ( 168, 185, 166 )

I did alright both Monday and Friday. My new trend though is start out low and improve over games. Both series were almost identicle: 1st Game - Mid 150's 2nd Game - 185-200 3rd Game - 200 +
I have just felt so uncoordinated that first game. If it's not one thing it's another (unbalanced, ball falling off the hand or sticking, lack of follow through, chicken-wing, topping the ball).. then by the 3rd game I seem to put it together.
Anyways, my teammates have been bowling pretty well in both leagues. Monday we took all 4 from the first place team, and friday we took 3 of 4 from the 2nd place team (we're in 3rd).
Tonight I'm looking for a solid start.

Hope you guys do good this weekend. Last night I bowled ( 202, 186, 177 ) - All above average but the other team just plain out bowled us. I couldn't seem to make a spare at all and we won 1 lost 3. Its funny but we dominated the first half of the season and this half we are doing terrible.
