Well last Friday it turned out we didn't bowl. Our lazy league I guess decided to take 2 weeks off for the holidays... bums! So I used the time to my advantage. I took my ball to the Pro Shop and had my fingertips drilled out more. I always thought the holes were too tight but didn't think it was hurting my game. I was wrong!
Over 5 games of practice Friday night I averaged 193.8. Then came league on Monday. My first 600 series ever! 661!
So now we do finally get back to bowling on Fridays after 3 weeks off. The other teams are going to thing I did some kind of super bowling training during the layoff

Tyveil, Congrats!! and hope you get another tomorrow. I have given up drinking for the month of January so I will see how that affects my bowling. I never pound them but last week, as I said earlier, I had a couple shots. That won't happen again.
Hey fellas, for the 4 or 5 of us that post on this thread. (Mutilated, Tyveil, Bikedad, Big Bowlla & mrsuthern) I found another bowling site that I have been checking out, along with this one and a few others. I really like this one and the guys are all pretty cool and knowledgeable. Here is the link if you guys want to check it out.
If you sign up you can put me (Murph095) as who reffered you. Not a big deal and I don't want to post this outside of this thread as i don't want to just refer anybody. I have talked to you guys and we all seem to be on the same page. regardless, good luck to everyone this weekend and I am shooting for my 2nd 600 in a row.

Will go and check that out. Congrats on the 600's that ya'll have gotten. Murf good luck on the quest. I got a pair of 600's half way through the season now -I am doing what I can myself to get back there. I came up short, barely the last two weeks, I have no one but myself to blame. Here lately out of the blue and for no apparent length of time for two frames in each game I will pull one shot then throw the other one out. All frames before and every frame after right on target. Haven't figured out what the deal is with that yet. Still trying to get it worked out. Last week we just got demolished, but not from lack of effort everyone shot 20+ pins above their average, just nothing going when the team we were up against had a team average of 210. Was a moment to watch and learn though. We lost all 5 available. Oh well hit 'em with a vengance next week. Good Luck to all!!!

I hope you guys do well tonight. I've been bowling well this week in practice, but I woke up this morning with a fever and swollen glands, and my ears are all congested so my balance is off, and I just generally feel like ****. I hope I dont let the team down.

Thanks guys. Actually it didn't turn out so bad. I bowled ( 205, 150, 191 ). Missed a couple of should be easy spares to ruin that second game, and the second and third games just couldn't find the right angle consistently. Looked like it was hitting the pocket right, but continually left 6s. The other team didn't show up, so I don't know how many we won, but judging by the scores compared with the league averages for the year, I think its pretty likely we won at least 2. Doesn't matter all that much anyway, it was the last game of the half and our team is to far ahead in first place for anyone to catch us.

I ended up pretty c rappy, at least compared to how I have been doing. I did something to my knee and can't really finish my shot. I am getting it looked at next Thursday and it feels like a meniscus tear. (Had the right knee done, 1.5 years ago) I am still fighting through my bowling, but it really bothers me as I can't finish my approach because of my inability to bend down with my left knee. I am wearing a brace and it helps a bit but I forgot it last night. I tried to maintain good form and aim though but it was a trying night. I started the night averaging 170 and threw a 165,167,191. We took 5 of 7 points in the 2nd week of the 2nd session.

Decent night both of you. Murf you maintained your average through the night even with your knee troubles, thats better than good. Mutil you still averaged 180+ not bad even to be admitting to some of your downfalls of the night. I hope after league I have atleast as good news to report back with.

Murph,
Sorry to hear about your knee.. that's rough news! Hope you get through it and it doesn't keep nagging every week. Last year I had a wrist injury that just would not go away. I played through pretty much the entire season in pain (8 month season). Then I had 3 weeks off between that league and summer league and once summer started the wrist was good as new... I thought I'd be stuck with it for life. Guess it just needed some rest.
I know knees can be much more serious because they're taking a lot more weight so make sure to take it easy if you need to.
As far as my bowling last Friday.. I didn't follow up my first ever 600 with another one, but I did get close - 573. I could not strike the last game, ended up getting 2 strikes, lots of spares, and a 171 total. Our team won 3-1 and we are within reach of the top 2 teams (we fell to some time ago).
