Nice job guys!

I got leagues tonight and tomorrow night, though tonight is my unsanctioned one. My main concern is that my leg doesn't hurt like crazy.

Another Tuesday night of getting frustrated. I start out throwing the Groove again running up the 5 board, good the first game with a 213, that was with two opens a missed 3 pin that I pulled the first shot and never got the ball over to the right side on the spare and a 10 pin that I felt as I released the ball I was going to be just inside of it, and missed it my a board or so. I was 9 count spares and strikes through the game, other than the foul on a first ball that I converted the spare that was on an open I believe. The second game I start out doing the no tap thing again, with a couple of strikes. Then I start having issues with throwing the ball down the 3 board and never getting solid in the pocket leaving right side spares. I also threw a gutter ball when I didn't release the ball cleanly and it went to the right. I almost cleaned it up though. I did this again a few frames later but the ball came off the gutter but only got back the the 3 pin and left the 1-2-4-8 which I converted. I ended the game with a 179, a couple of pins below my average in this league. The third game things start to go down hill even more. I can't get the ball back to the pocket or I pull it or angle it into the head pin and miss some easy spares. I decide to do a ball change to my Radical Inferno about 4 frames in after I left the 4-6-10. I then go fishing for a line since I can't remember what I did with it in practice. It takes me three frames to find it, but its a matter of being able to repeat it as I was having a hard time getting the ball out. I finished the game with 146, with 5 opens, three of them splits and one a washout and the other just a bad throw at the four pin and I mean throw as I ended up muscling the ball and pulling it and was lucky if the ball was still on the lane at 30 feet. I did manage to start marking and being the anchor give us the handicap point but losing the scratch point to take 6 of 7 since we blew them out the first two games. Each of the first two we had three out of four bowlers over 200, with most of those games being over 210. The other team only had two bowlers. One of the missing was in a car accident the yesterday just up the street from the center and the other was a no show, didn't call or anything. So one of the guys that was there was upset and didn't do so well the first two games and did good the last game, going no-tap with some strikes until the second ball of the tenth when he left two pins. This was the first week of the second half so its time to hit them good. I just need another ball for this house that I don't have to try to swing the whole lane. I plan on getting a Lane 1 Liberator urethane once they hit the shelves here. I hear there are going to be only 770 of them made, maybe thats per a weight but I know one Pro Shop that is definitely getting some.

Had a pretty good night tonight, we took 2 of 4 games and total pins against a pretty good team.

As for me, I shot 189-202-221-225 for an 835 set.

Almost had the final 30 clean, if not for tugging at a 10 pin in the final shot of game 2.

I've probably been 80%+ on 10 pins the last 2-3 weeks so I'm beginning to show improvement there, mostly in my footwork and sliding to my mark to allow me to push it across.

All in all, pretty happy with the night.

I finally hhave something going. Last night 218-194-275 and I took all 4 points scratch. The last 3 weeks Ive taken 3 of 4 points and last night 4 of 4. Finally things are going my way, so-so scores still earn me points and my opponents have stopped shooting way over their heads against me.

So weird how things can go wrong for so long then turn around in a heart beat. It doesn't hurt that I'm regaining my old form either. I had to step up the scoring pace. With in the last 3 weeks My lowest series has been 670 and highest 768. I'm starting to flirt with 300s again as I've had games of 269-278-277-275 mixed in there. Feels good to be back lol

188, 201, 188 for me last night. It was my unsanctioned league and I was trying different lines, different balls, changing my approach speed with the relaxed armswing to test different things, and in general goofing around behind the approaches. All in all not a terrible night, though the scores are low for me. I figured some stuff out and had fun.

The most important thing though: my leg didn't hurt at all!

Trouble again last night. Last week, I took too many pain killers for my hip, and my arms felt like rubber. Well, last night, I forgot to take them at all. Got to the lanes and asked if anyone had some Aleve. I only was able to get a generic Tylenol, so I took it. Only 1 this time.

I just can't roll a clean game. First game 210 with 2 opens, missed a 4 to the right, and a 10 to the left. Second game 219, again with 2 opens, a split and picked a 6 off the 10.

Third game, the pain killers were wearing off. I can feel pain in my hip on the slide. At the same time, my arm problem came back, and I couldn't control it. It's a habit I developed over the Summer of pulling my arm behind my back. Don't know if the 2 are related, but both created problems. 4 opens, starting with a gutter/9 in the 3rd frame, due to my arm. 5-6 and 7 were also opens, finishing with a 160.

I can feel the pain relievers wearing off. But, when it happens, it is too late to take another. Why my arm went screwball is a mental thing. And, I am sometimes short in that area. But, I have spent a lot of time to get rid of the arm problem, and sometimes have relapses of this bad habit.

Team only took 1 game from the first place team. We are good as a team, but the results just are not there. We are carrying 985 scratch for 5 with a 170 bowler. Just can't put it together. We are always 20-30 pins short. Coincidently, that is my 2 opens per game.

No problem.

All in all I am not doing too bad. Just trying to get used to the reduction in caffiene. I am a caffiene junkie but I am doing pretty good with it (I think). Trying to keep stress to a minimum also - don't know how long it will last though. Was told last week to try and keep stress to a minimum and then both of my kids got pink eye. Great way to stay stress free LOL!!!! The kids handled it way better than I did. Not that pink eye is a real big deal, just the point of it I guess :-)

Can't wait to go bowling tomorrow night.

You doing good?

Mellisa,
Just a heads up regarding your caffiene cutback. Decaf coffee is really not good for you either, your probably better off drinking regular coffee in moderation.
Decaf coffee is decaffienated with formaldehyde (embalming fluid), so says my nutritionalist. I believe she said its cancer causing in the long run.
Why is everything that we enjoy...not good for you? frown

I've heard that too - I still have regular coffee in the morning although I really could live without it. Pepsi on the other hand is my downfall. I love Pepsi.

Everything that we enjoy is not good for us because life loves to torture us - LOL!! That's where the stress comes in. You are stressed because what you enjoy is hurting you - you change your lifestyle and no longer enjoy the things you like which makes you miserable and more stressed. So - I think that I will only change a little bit so that I can be happily stressed instead of miserably stressed - ha ha ha.
