I know that feeling of dropping off after two great first games, thats how my season started this year, I wish I was doing that instead of some of this male cow feces I've been bowling recently. I'm sure I'll work out of it and really start hitting my stride again.

Thought I posted something. But it is not here.

REPOST:

How does someone go from confusion one night to consistency the next? Did OK tonight, 620. This week, my games have been 203-222-129-198-205-217. My first grade teacher would ask, "class, which one in this group does not belong?"

We won 5 of 7 points tonight, giving away 160 pins to a team we were tied with. Won the first by 16. Lost the second by 17. Won the last game by 29, so we also won series. I think we are tied for 5th with a bunch of teams going into position nght next week.

Well, after having several weeks with some great scores, this week happened. I bowled like [censored].

Tuesday night I started with a 184, which it was 17 pins under my average. My second game kept having problems with one of the lanes. I just couldn't figure out what was going on with it. I kept striking in the left lane and leaving opens in the right lane. There should be a patch for that! LOL. Finish with a 150 because I managed to get a spare toward the end.

After that I was really puzzled, so I decided to change balls in the right lane and i was able to get a few strikes. The result was a 228, for a 562 series. My teammates fortunately bowl much better than I did and we managed to pick 5 out of7 points for the night.

Tonight I was struggling through the first game too, 177. On my second game my knee started hurting pretty bad, so I put on a brace I wear sometimes when I have some tendinitis. It was still hurting. I had to change my approach completely. I was finishing almost standing up with very little knee bend. Somehow that work for a little while, bowled a 204 and then a 184, but my knee was hurting pretty bad by the time I finished. I'll probably won't bowl on Friday to give it a rest.

Hopefully next week I'm able to bowl and go back to the level I was bowling the first few weeks of the season.

I have yet another appt. with my coach this weekend, hopefully we can figure it out. More than likely its something (like a timing issue) that just needs a little tweeking. The hard part is recognizing it during a match and fixing it before too much damage is done.

I hear you eraser. Last week did the same thing. I Started off with a 231 game and then disaster broke loose. Second game 153 and 160. How could i loose my look so fast and endure so many bad breaks just right after i posted a 231 game. I think i was thinking too much.

Last night I subbed for only the second time this year. I got there at the end of practice so I didn't get any time to warm up. First game, I shot 191 with 2 opens (both splits). I threw the ball okay but not great. Second game, I shot 175 with 2 splits and a washout. The ball was turning too early. I had switched balls from the Special Agent to the Paradigm in the second game. In the third game, I decided to try side roll instead of my normal forward roll. I had the front 7 and then my line went completely bye-bye. I couldn't keep the ball out of the nose. I ended up with a 239. Disappointing to say the least but, at least I got out and shot a few games.

Well last night I finally felt comfortable. Other than a couple of shots that I pulled, I feel I threw the ball pretty well. I can feel my timing coming back, and my release is alot smoother. Our pair of lanes kept breaking down, and after about a half dozen times calling the mechanic over to get our balls out of the ball return, we were moved to another pair in the middle of game two. That messed a few of us up for a few frames, but we ended up taking 5 of 7 points.
My scores were not great, 184, 171, 208, but like I said earlier I felt very comfortable, the ball was moving, I was actually stringing together a few strikes..it was fun again. smile

I would say the 198 does not belong - it is the only score that doesn't have a 2 in it. Sorry, I couldn't resist cool
