thanks guys, even though the spring league was a 'fun' league, it's nice to win, and my average is about 151 now [versus my almost 147 in fall/winter], and everyone says the house we did the spring league in is a tougher shot, go figure??
sad thing is, i don't think there is going to be an actual summer league in my area, as everyone is either doing golf leagues or volleyball, so not sure what i'm gonna do for bowling this summer, other than maybe plan a weeknight with some friends to bowl a few games.

Speaking of being bit..I got bit by a cat when I tried to break up a cat fight just before I left to bowl. Bad move. He got me right down to the bone. My left thumb swelled up during bowling, and I could barely move it. Could be why my bowling stunk,..I was a little preoccupied. Naaah, Thats just an excuse..I just flat out missed everything. Anyways I stopped at the clinic on the way home and got a tetanus shot, and X Rays and anti biotics. So hopefully I can concentrate a little better next week when I get my last crack at the Shark before they change the pattern. Stupid cat....or more realisticly...stupid me. Never break up a cat fight.
Next time just dump a pitcher of water on them. Sorry to hear about your thumb, those cats do have a pretty mean bite lol!
Next time I'll hit the darn cat with a shovel. It was my own cat that bit me. My thumb got much worse the next day, with that red streaking going up the arm. The infection was much worse, to where my left hand looks like a catchers mitt. @#%!*&$ CAT....Here kitty, kitty, kitty....LOL

Not much to choose from as far as summer leagues go around here either. The bowling centers where I live are barely open at all in the summer. I drive 70 miles away to bowl a PBAX league, and that is about it for choice, unless you call Friday Night No-Tap a choice.

This past week on the Scorpion I bowled so-so. I've been having problems with my release and over throwing the ball. I slowed down and shot a clean 187 the first game. I think that's officialy the lowest clean game I've ever had. I followed that up with a 170ish game. We moved and I shot another 170 and then figured out that I wasn't getting my thumb out of the ball early enough. As soon as I fixed that, I shot 245. I ended up with a 780 series so it doesn't look as bad as the 2 middle games.

Lefty it sounds like you might need to go forward with your thumb pitch 1/8" to 1/4" if you have to think about getting your thumb out of the ball you are probably squeezing a little.
