Just to show you so I don't ruin a ball, here's a link to the soap I have.

http://www.colgate.com/app/Palmolive/US/EN/DishwashingLiquids.cwsp

It's the Antibacterial Hand Soap. I have a feeling the Oxy Plus is better for the purpose of bowling balls since it breaks through grease but I just have to know if what I have will be safe at least.

You want something that cuts grease. Hand soaps are generally less effective at that. Get dish liquid.

No, I would stick with the liquid dish soap. You don't need alot, maybe a tablespoon or so per 5 gal. bucket

Years ago I backed a Code Red in my oven, then put it in warm water and wet snaded it. I left it out to dry and the next day it was cracked. I won't use the oven again. take it to a Pro Shop to have it backed. Let them take the risk.

It's really important to let the ball cool down _slowly_. After you are finished cleaning the ball, put it in your bag and close the bag and let the ball cool down to room temperature. Give it at least a couple of hours.

I use the dishwasher on my balls and haven't had any problems so far. I personally don't use soap. I don't think it's necessary. The heat sucks out the oil and at that heat it will wash away fine without any extra help. Plus, as the oil seeps out it will also lift most of the stubborn dirt off the surface.

Why? Does baking your ball have some kind of weird side effect?
Was just wondering if the rejuvenator will have some sort of effect on the inserts/grips, e.g., make them harder or softer? If so, would it be recommended to replace them after running the ball in the rejuvenator?

First I made a bowling ball riser/suspender for my wife's fancy home convection oven: One piece of scrap 3/8" aluminum plate about 5" square: Drill & tap a hole in center of plate for 6" bolt whose head fits inside of my bowling ball's thumb hole. Place bowling ball on bolt on cookie sheet in oven and bake for two hours @ 150 degrees - cool over night. (Oven turns off by itself) Unbelievable amount of oil on cookie sheet in the morning!

I just started doing this. I will let everybody know if me BW Bite cracks at all. I put about 25 games a week on it. I don't think there is any reason for soap.

The rejuvenator oven rotates the ball and also some blow the hot air around, so there is an even distribution of heat all around the ball. Haven't seen any effect on the inserts. But, I change mine often.
