Well last regular night of the season and I hit my highest game and highest series since my comeback 2 years ago.

I shot a 246, 173, & 188 for a 607 series. Best thing was I fought out of three straight opens in the second game in the 2nd - 4th games (a washout and 2 splits)to keep my head above water. The only low points were those frames, missing a 10-pin in the 10th of the first game (or I could have had a 256) and a split in the last frame of the last game.

We won all 4 games and should finish around 12th.

Thanks Dennis. I think those 3 frames helped me because once I got past them I got the confidence to know I could fight back from anything.

WTG Scott. I know you could do it. Great Shooting. You finally got that 600 series you wanted.

Picked up our payout for my Thursday night league this week.

We only managed to get about $400, we tied for 3rd in the final quarter and that was our highest finish.

I guess we voted not to recognize team awards, so we didn't get any extra for Team High Scratch game that we held.

I also finished with the most improved average, going +23 for the year to finish at 192. Didn't get anything for that, and I'm not sure if that's a USBC award or not?

But all in all, a pretty good year, nearly 50% of my series were 600+ and I managed to accomplish two of my 3 goals for the year.

I'm most likely taking the summer off once my Tuesday night trios league ends in two weeks.

Although a farther away house is going to run a summer special on Monday nights from 7-9pm, $8 and they're going to run the PBA shots mixed and matched for open bowling.

I'll probably join my Thursday night teammates for a few of those.

Slimmy,
You should recieve a patch or pin from USBC for most improved.

I'm still trying to figure out how my team took 4 of 7 tonight. Each game is worth 2 points handicap win and 1 point for total. We won the second and third game but they won by enough the first game to take total. We only had 3 bowlers out of 5, 2 roster and a sub, versus their 4 bowlers out of 5. We only had a sub because a friend decided to come out to try to sub if anyone needed him, and we could have probably picked up VanDaniker, Jr but I think someone else might have got him, or he just didn't want to bowl.

My first game was a 160something. I decided to use my Radical Inferno tonight as I haven't used it in a while. From practice to scoring something changed, either I wasn't releasing the same, or I was getting more speed on it, coming in light on my first 4 strike attempts and only getting one spare. In practice I had to swing it some to get in the pocket from about 10 out to 4. I finally finished running up 5 or 6. I started to move right each frame and by the fifth frame had a line. The first one left a ten that I missed and then I ran off a 4 bagger and then guttered in the ninth :X and didn't get the spare. I followed it up with another open in the tenth, can't remember what I left I just know it was an open, maybe a 4-10.

Second game was a dismal 140something. More opens, several splits and a gutterball when I stepped my slide foot a little to far in and bounced the ball off my ankle.

My third game was my highest, being in the low 170s. I switched to the Purple Ogre I did some surface adjustments to the 2 balls and it made the Radical a bit more aggressive. I had another split or two, a washout, a few more missed 10 pins and two gutterballs, the second being in the ninth frame. I then threw my plastic ball on a similar line running up 5 for about 25-30 feet and then arcing right in the pocket knocking all 10 in the pit for the spare. I decided to finish the game with it, put the next two shots flush in the pocket and getting all 10 on both. On my fill ball I think I might of ended up lofting it some or maybe a tad too fast hitting light and leaving the 2 pin.

Tonight I missed all 4 of my 10 pins way inside, I was lining up wrong or not walking toward my target or something. I just didn't feel like I knew what I was doing over there. Out of the left side leaves, I only missed one 4 pin out of two, and got it every time I left the 4-9 which was twice I think.

One more week of this league, and then after tomorrow one more of my Tuesday night league and then I'll be taking a week or two off from the game, and getting some of my equipment plugged and redrilled with a shorter span and maybe changing the thumb pitch. The money from my Tuesday league will go to this. I have to decide what balls I want to get done, as I think I am going to get rid of a few of my older balls, and several of my balls have already been plugged once to shorten the span. I guess I either didn't put my thumb all the way in when I had that done, or something else has changed in my hand because the leading edge of the finger holes used to be in between the two knuckles, not exactly half way though and know the crease is at the leading edge.
