Now that the holidays are over, I have more time for blogging. Just as well, as my bowling has been unspectacular of late. I had a decent night last night, though.
Game 1: 211 Game 2: 206 Game 3: 168 -------------- Series: 585
The second game was clean, and first game was almost clean - I chopped the 5 pin off the bucket. I thought I'd have another 600 series, but when the oil broke down in the last game, I was in trouble. When I moved inside, my Radical Inferno wasn't making it back to the pocket. At one point, a bad shot left me looking at a 1-5-9. Thankfully, I'm pretty good at making the 2-8, and this wasn't much different.
Lately, my inside game has sucked big time. I don't know what I'd do without my Monster Frenzy. I was able to recover a bit, but we lost the third game by 4 pins after winning the first two by 100+ pins each. We could have used a sweep, but I'm happy we got five points at least, since we're still hovering around 3rd or 4th place.

Ample, At least you have an NFL team in the Steelers. We here in the Detroit area are stuck with the stinking Lions, who claim they are an NFL team but have yet to look like one for @ least 10 yrs....what a joke. They are the worst. They do provide us with some comical relief every Sunday as they bumble to another loss.
But we do have the Red Wings, Pistons, and now the Tigers.
I am going to try my new ball (Anger) tonight. I got it drilled on Sunday and the guy who drilled it did a better job than the guy who drilled my widow so the anger fits my hand better. Going to take some getting used to since the anger just slides right off and doesn't get hung up like the widow does. I threw a couple frames after it was drilled but the lane conditions were a little less than to be desired so basically I just threw to get a feel for the ball. The guys who drilled it will be at the lanes tonight and wants me to throw it and see how it goes. I am looking forward to it.
The only thing I am not looking forward to is that I will be bowling tonight with a heart monitor on. It is pretty small so I don't think it will get in the way - what I am worried about is thinking about it being there and not concentrating on my game. We shall see - maybe it will be a good distraction. :-)
Good luck to everyone who bowls tonight :-)

A Tigers fan I've been since I played little league baseball, and they were terrible back then. I was very disappointed they didn't make the post season this year... Though I despise the Red Wings, being an Avalanche fan myself. Good luck bowling everyone, I look forward to having some good news come Monday!!!

Melissa, Whats with the heart monitor?? I hope its nothing serious. Good Luck to you as well. Concentrate on the new ball, that should take your mind off the monitor. I am also getting a new ball sometime this week..it only comes out on the fourth, hopefully I'll have it by Saturday.

My dad grew up in Bay City/Saginaw and always reverts back to the Tigers, Pistons, Lions and Red Wings (though he just got into hockey the last few years with me and my sibs all becoming huge Sabres fans while going to school/living in Buffalo). I'd have to say the Tigers are my favorite AL team, especially now that they got Willis and Cabrera from my Marlins, meaning the Yankees and Red Sox didn't!

I have been having these attacks that make my heart race, cold sweat, blurry vision and hearing. Doc thinks they are panic attacks although when I have them I am not in a stressful situation so he is checking for irregularities in my heart beat (too many beats, not enough, skipped, etc.) I will have it on until tomorrow morning. Should make for an interesting night of sleeping as well.
I am real excited about using my new ball tonight so I hope that's enough. I also redid the wires attached to me so now I barely feel them - alot better than when I left the office anyway.
That's cool about the new ball - I would be jumping out of my skin knowing I had to wait for something. What are you getting? Let me know how you like it.

My wife had that about 5 years ago. She had an extra pathway in her heart. She would be standing still and then her heart would race to over 200 beats a minute. She went into for surgery where they took a laser to the extra pathway. She was home by dinner.
I don't know what you are talking about Eraser. The Lions looked good, at least during the first half of the season. I guess the aliens that were playing then got tired of playing, left the planet and made the "real" players start playing. I'm a transplant from Detroit myself and still cheer for the teams from there no matter how much of losers they are.
Odyssey, I hope that the problems you are having is only something minor and is easily remedied. Good luck and good health.
As for all this new ball talk, the next one I am thinking of getting is the Lane #1 Liberator that is a urethane with the classic diamond core. I know Visionary is suppose to come out with a new urethane as well.

Thursday Night League. Well since last thursday league i have not picked up a ball at all. So first time i picked up a ball since before the new year.
So First game look very promissing No Opens. Shot a clean 212. A lot of spares. Second Game. Started off with a turkey then i lost my shot and just didnt adjust correctly to lane transitionbefore i knew it i left three splits and two make able spare i wiffed for 5 opens and only could 159. Second game i was lost first four frame opens and on the 3 and 4 th frame i threw the ball in gutter on the first ball. Then decided to try another move. I was able to somewhat make the game respectable and finsihed with 173. So 212-159-173 = 544 I bowled my average it wasnt terrible or great but decent for not practicing or bowling for a week.
Team wise we going agaisnt highest average team in our league. Always hard to beat. We lost the first two game and last game i saved our team by double in the 10th to win the game by 4 pins. Actually all the games were close by 40 pins or less. So only 2 pins. We probally drop to third. It postition round next week.
