I just have a bucket and fill it with warm but not incredibly hot water. Stick the ball in. Put some dish detergent in it. Wait 10-15 minutes. pull it out. Rinse it off with regular water. And Continue the process multiple times until no more oil is coming out of the ball. The Detergent brings the oil to the surface. Then I'd suggest using a USBC approved ball cleaner right afterwards. If you don't have that, just use rubbing alcohol or simple green or windex. All will work. Btw, make sure your water isn't to hot. I made the mistake and cracked one of my balls. I'm still using it but I'd be careful. The hot water bath method works great but just be careful.

You can always try rubbing alcohol. It's definitely a cheap and efficient solution.

I use a meat thermometer just to make sure the water doesn't get above 130-140 degrees. Haven't had any problems yet. thumbsup

I probably already said this but you can sit them out in the sun let it do the work clean the affected area and then rotate the ball. Once you get a fair amount of oil out take it inside and put it away to let it cool off. It's worked for me with no problems at all. I do it about every 3-4 weeks depending. it helps keep my Black Widow Solid from dying, which has about a good 300-350 games on it (way more than most before people discard the ball or use it as a spare ball). I probably won't need to use the method so frequently now that I have my Cell to help share the load.

Thought it may be interesting to Video the way I rejuvenate my bowling ball in the convection oven. Two weeks since last done, about 50 games on it since last baking - Once again tons of oil out.
