Sorry Cal...couldn't get it done last night.....3 weeks in a row where I would have two really bad games with one over 200....I think I finally figured out what to play on these lanes...but man it was disappointing again.....all during this time we have lost close games as a team as well... we have averaged 2 points a week now for 5 weeks...Last place here we come....
It's really frustrating, but last night I got some good pointers from the guy with the top average in the late leagues who was hanging around the lanes....I was just trying to make this new ball do what it shouldn't....just a good example of me being stubborn....I had two really bad games of around 155 and 165...but when he slapped me around a little and made me move...I started out the 3rd game with 5 in a row...opened a few times because I didn't have my plastic ball there...but ended with a 213....so I think I am on the mend...but I said that last week too.....

I know that feeling all to well, Joey. My problem at the house I bowl on Saturdays and Mondays is getting any ball to move. Tuesdays its the opposite, trying to tame the reaction on any ball I have but one and with added oil towards the outside that ball is hard to find a line with. I can move it and most of the balls will still dive, and then I move a little further and the ball hits light. I'm thinking of changing inserts and to stop using the tape on my ring finger so I can get a better feel. I think the cut is cured enough to give it ago. My other problem is feeling lost on some spares, not knowing where to line up and target when going after them.
Saab, someone brought up the leaving of 8 and 9 pins in another topic. I'm assuming you are right handed, and most of the time the 8 is left on a high flush shot and the 5 is pushed straight back as opposed to at the 8. You might be getting a little hyped and just getting a little extra on the ball and it moves a half a board too much. The other explanation is hitting a little too light and the 5 going straight across in front of the 8 and once again it could be caused by getting a little too hyped causing you to throw the ball just a hair faster.

Hey guys - its been awhile. I see some new names too. So many posts to catch up on - hopefully I will be around more (everything has been so hectic with work and home I barely have time to breathe).
This past Thursday I went bowling although I probably should have stayed home with how sick I was. Didn't have too bad of a night though considering. Had a 180-218-151=549. Had a real good chance to finally get my 600 but I am not complaining. 218 is my highest game of the season and the 549 is my 2nd highest series of the season. I am pleased.
Hope everyone is doing well :-)
Happy Bowling

Hey Melissa, Nice to hear from you. Thats a great series you had there, and a 218 game to boot. Very nice, great job!! Hopefully things will quite down for you and we will hear from you soon. That domestic life can be hectic, with work, home and the kids as you well know. Keep up the nice bowling. Take care.
i am still pretty excited over last Thursday - hope it continues this week :-) We shall see.
Yes, everything just caught up with me all at once the last couple weeks and it has been hectic keeping up with all of it. I think I am getting everything under control and hope to be around alot more - I really missed checking in everyday. Trying to kick a nasty bronchial infection also that has been hanging on for the last 2 weeks. :-(
