Puffer,

If you were addressing me in your last post, then yes, the Grand Tour series of bags is designed to go up and down stairs. In one of my leagues I have to go up 5 steps to enter the vestibule.

KR actually makes several of the bags for the other companies, especially Brunswick. Any size bag Brunswick has, there is a KR counterpart. They do have some good bags.

What ever you do, don't get a 3 ball bag and then buy a Joey Pouch. I did that and my bag that I had for almost 7 years broke. The weight of the ball on the handle snapped the handle off.

Yeah those Joey Pouches add more strain, I had one once and it was just annoying. The bag I had it on is still in good shape, I gave it to my brother over a year ago and its still going strong. Its a Roto-Grip bag, and those are made real solid.

Well I just purchased the Brunswick inline 3,4,5 roller with wide 5" wheels. it has an external compartment for the 4rth ball and a joey pouch for the 5th. I'm not sure if I'll use the external or the joey as you guys have said it does add alot of strain on the handle. My thoughts are that I will carry a 2 ball bag if I want to bring 5 balls. That way I'm not risking putting too much weight on the handle.

The reason I purchased this roller was that after looking at the other 4 ball rollers - I tended to like the inline version a bit better for navigating through cramped and busy bowling centers. a couple of the centers I bowl at are older/super tiny alleys with only 12 & 12 lanes. Space down by the lanes is limited.

I also liked that this one had big wide 5" wheels which will help when going up stairs. The wheels on this model are at least twice as wide as most other models. I was able to navigate my stairs easily with 3 balls loaded.

This bag is made by KR and comes with a 5 year warranty. Also, my Pro Shop had this bag listed for $179.00 and sold it to me for $139.00. I had a $50.00 gift card, so including taxes I only spent $87.00.

The external compartment isn't that bad as the weight is down at the bottom. Its the Joey on the handle that adds strain since its right at the point the handle comes out of the bag. I've been thinking of getting the same bag for my next one as my current four ball stackable is all banged up, axle is bent with the wheels rubbing the side of the bag the handle is help in place with drywall screws and a couple of the zippers are not working right. I like the accessibility of the stackables though, since they need less room to sit there and be able to get a ball out instead of having to lay the bag down to get one.

I like my quad roller. It splits up in to two duals. And lifting those into the back of the cab of the truck is about as much lifting as I want to do on a frequent basis.

I hear you about lifting these things in and out of your truck. I guess it beats carrying them on your shoulder every where you go like I've been doing during the last year.

My problem is that I want to bring all my favorite balls with me every time I bowl and I feel guilty if I don't because of the money invested in them. Do I need 7 bowling balls? Absolutely not!!! But do I love all 7? Absolutely. And I might not need them but I sure like having them just in case.

I'm wierd that way I guess.

A good portion of my bowling is done in the wintertime. I live in upstate New York where we get a fair amount of snow. I'm waiting for one of the bowling bag manufacturers to come up with a bag that has skis that fold down so I can easily transport my 3 bagger through a foot of snow from the parking lot.
