Recap: disappointing. I just don't execute during league. I roll afterwards and I can strike, or at least hit the pocket, from anywhere. I need to quit f'ing around and just bowl.

At least I beat last weeks series by 6 pins. I was on a downward slide for a while. Also, I did manage to take 10 bucks for the high game pot in game 1.

Standings update...my team fell out of first place, as I expected, but we're still very much in the hunt, only 4 pts. out of first, and in third due to the handicap pinfall tiebreaker. This week, they consolidated two teams that had less than 3 bowlers, and the standings now show two vacant teams, which will disappear from the schedule w/ next week's standings. Looking ahead, my team goes up against the "Lounge Lizards," my cousins' team, next week...another league night to look forward to.

Update...five of the teams, including mine, were assigned new numbers on the schedule because the two vacant teams have been deleted. The "bad" part about this is that my team now has to face "Fun and Games," the good team w/ two scratch bowlers, twice, with the second meeting coming next week. Also, my team won't be bowling against my cousins' team this week (though we could meet later in the season...I don't have the full schedule to know for sure).

We had a decent night as a team by taking 5 of 7 points. I was moved to anchor for tonight and locked down the 1st game for us. I shot 225-257-217 for a 699 series. This makes 6 games with only 1 open frame. I'm getting back on Track finally. I took over league high average with 222 so far. I just got to hold onto this streak of doing better for what it's worth.

Mike, the way you're rolling, you should come out and bowl in the Cochran. Guaranteed 4k first prize, and there will be some PBA national names there. http://www.nesbitslanes.com

My spare dilemma continues. My strike ball is working well. I just can't get lined up correctly on this oil pattern. Next week, I will bring my spare ball. That should help.
First game, 4 opens for 169 (4 X's, 2 /'s, 4 -'s)
Second game, 1 open for 228 ( 8 X's, 2 /'s, 1 -)
Third game, opened the 9th and 10th for 222 (7 X's, 1 /, 2 -'s)
Fourth game, started with an open and another in the 3rd for 221 (7 X's, 2 /'s, 2 -'s)

840 for 4 games with 9 opens, and only 7 spares.
Good thing, I struck out in the 10 in 2 games to win by less than 10 pins.

We took 7 of 9 points to move from 17 to 15. 4 weeks ago we were last, 20th.

I'll ride the wave for as long as I can, I'm destined to wipe out sooner or later lol Pitt is a ride but not impossible I'll have to see what's going on life has been hectic lately and that's an understatement.

Dennis when you say you aren't converting spares are they makeable or are they splits?

Mike, if I remember correctly, it was like:
3 ten pins
Chop a 6 off a 6-10
Chop a 3 off a 3-6-10
Take the 3-6 off the 3-6-10
3 off a 3-10
a 7 pin, and
1 Greek Church, the only bad split.
I am missing to the left on these. It's not a matter of too much hook. I am pulling the ball on these shots. I have cut the hook, but don't let it out.

I mentioned earlier, that I am practicing an inside line all Summer. This is something that I really don't do well. I have little faith in my ball to come back. Generally, I move left through the night. Last night I decided to start the night left and had trouble in the first game. Last week, I moved left in the 3rd game and had a 160, while shooting 700 for my other 3 games. I just don't trust the ball. As you see by the spare leaves, I have still pulled the first ball a few times. I follow up with another pull on the spare shot. Even the 10 pins, only 1 was legitimate. One was on a crossover, and another was a high 7-10 that the 7 fell late.

And, I know what I do when this happens. I pull the ball behind my back on the backswing, and early rotate. This has been a problem I have been fighting all year.
