My team name this year is Bowl 'Till You Bleed. If you've ever watched the show Dexter (season 2), you'll get it.

Eventually, we've gotta get these shirts...

Yup I get it. So far this bowling season my team isn't named, so we are currently Team 13, this is the third time in 3 leagues at this center that this has been the team number for my brother, his wife and me.

Probably even got it from this thread, but I deciced to name our team "3 hambones". I thought it was good enough.

well, back in the day, the first team i was on was called the Strykers (i guess we thought the y instead of an i was cool). After the lanes where my first league was closed down (about when this thread started, in 2001), i moved to another league and was placed on a team which was later named "tight pants," because i lost the bet and one of the two girls on the team won. after that, our old team from the first alley reformed and took up the strykers again, and a couple of years later we picked up the name "state of emergency." after i switched houses again and found a new team (the other two bolwers stopped bowling in favor of work, etc), our name was Orion's Spartans (which, i believe, is a Halo reference). for the summer league, we had three guys who were all relatively big guys, and there is a local store (i think it's a national chain store but i'm not sure) called Casual Male XL, so i took that and switched a word, and we became "Casual Men XL." Apparently this was a good choice, because we won the league title.

so, for a recap:

The Strykers
Tight Pants
The Strykers (again)
State of Emergency
Orion's Spartans
Casual Men XL

I had to work nights around the beginning of the season last year for a couple of months. Both my business partner and I bowled on a Tuesday night league, so we told them we wouldn't be in on that night every week until after we were done bowling. We were committed to the league before we had that job to do, and the league lasted longer than the job would.

I have however not bowled due to lack of work but that's kind of self explanatory.

I would think that it's probably a better name if everyone understands the name (or the joke or the play on words) and not only a select few (other Puerto Ricans or polish).

That does it. I finally learned something from this thread. Next year, I am putting together a team for the Fall. It will be a fun, good bunch of people, and good bowlers too. As the only person of Italian Heritage, and the self appointed Captain, Our name will be Pasta and Meatballs.
