Eraser, Wed league is a Summer Sport league. It is a 3/1 oil ratio for 39 feet and reverse buffed to the pin deck. They use a heavier viscosity oil so it also lasts pretty long.
I actually don't bowl in a PBAX league for 2 reasons.
First, I created many problems for myself last Summer trying to overcome the pattern variations. And, it took til Feb of this year to get out of them.
Second, there just aren't too many PBAX leagues here. Last Summer, all 13 Houses in our association had one. This year, there are only 2, and I don't care much for those houses.
Odd as it seems, the closest center to my house is where I bowl on a PBAX pattern on Monday for the .99 per game practice. But, I have never bowled in a league there. It is also in a different Association.
I like this House I bowl in because it is a bowler's House. 20 lanes, privately owned, and well maintained. Great
Pro Shop, and full of good bowlers. The competition is really great, and the bowlers are friendly. They have only retired, older pros running the Center, and there are quite a few local pros bowling out of here. Both the House owner and the
Pro Shop owner sponsor a few in a start-up. In return, they have the younger pros work the
Pro Shop or give lessons, especially to Youth groups, which the House is full of. They run a full-house schedule of Youth leagues on weekends from Bantam up to Junior. And, is the home lanes for 2 high schools. It's a real bowler's place. No gimmicks, No video game rooms, No Cosmic. Just good bowling. And, they are full of leagues every night of the week, all year round.
Although, the Fall leagues are all 5 man teams and the Summer drops down to 3 or 4. Wed is a Trio league, 4 games per night, 20 teams.
The owner, who bowls right with us, puts down a good shot, that is challenging and fair. And, it is consistent from week to week.
