Good Luck in Vegas Brandon. My daughter and her friends are going there this afternoon, so I have a rush hour drive to the airport to look forward too.

Another decent night but I am still am somewhat disappointed because it could have been much better. The good news is that it is like those 4 horrid weeks never happened. Another night with every game over average for a 523 (192, 170, 161). The good, lots of strikes, only missed the pocket altogether twice, and was getting a lot of revs and good action. The bad, 4 huge splits from hitting too high, picked or missed 4 easy spares, and concentration faded at times.
Team went 2-2 and was in 6th at the beginning of the night. If I throw out those 4 horrid series I am averaging in the 170’s but unfortunately I cannot do that!

My league's standings updated last night (and I saw them today), as usual, and, as I should've expected, my team fell to the middle of the pack, being in 9th place out of 18 teams. We bowl against the "Lounge Lizards," my cousins' team (in last place at press time), next week, then one of the teams currently ahead of us, "Shake 'n' Bake," the week after that.

Well, I shot 175-231-226 on the Viper tonight for a 632 that is my highest series of the league so far, but only 2 weeks to go. I won all my points and 2 sidepots. Overall a nice night, so I guess the rumors of my lack of ability to adjust have been greatly exaggerated. Lets just say the night went something like this. "red ball up 8"

Well, after a big confidence boost last week shooting 600 on the Viper, this week it was the Chameleon. First game was "red ball up 8" with the Twisted and a no sweat 229. Move to the next pair and the two guys in front of me both had their balls hook five feet earlier, so I go get my Break Pearl. Really started to struggle because on the old wood lanes in this house, it seems like the pattern breakdown happens all at once. Moving in didn't help, and moving out caused some weird leaves in game 2 like a pocket 7-10, a 4-9, solid 9, and a 2-8-10. Managed to salvage a 176 from a game that could have been much worse. Game 3 I had to go to lanes 1-2, which are notorious set wreckers. Once again, after watching the two guys in front of me I decided to ball down. I think the only strike I had went Brooklyn, and my spare game absolutely detonated. Two solid nines, a solid 8, another 2-8-10, another pocket 7-10 etc. etc. etc. There was no rhyme/reason to the way this last pair had broken down and finding the pocket didn't reap reward, so mentally my nugget just popped , bad on me. Turned a 229 lead off into a 545 series...wow . My White Dot and I are not on the best of terms this morning, so some serious practice is in order. Thought I had turned the corner on converting simple spares but apparently not.
One more week on the Cheetah (taking the Street Rod to 4000 and shining it way up) before my summer league season comes to an early end for wedding and honeymoon. HAPPY TIMES!

Last night was week #2 on NCAA pattern #4. Let me just say don't get the ball outside of 5 on that pattern. Last week was a nightmare. This week was okay. I shot 542 and I left a ton of pins out there. I missed some REALLY easy spares that I shouldn't have missed. My mental game right now sucks. I need to remember to take a step back every once in a while. I haven't done that lately.
Next 2 weeks is on the Viper. Then, we end with the Shark. I am looking forward to these last 4 weeks. Those were my best 2 patterns last year. As a team, we aren't doing very well but one of my teammates is a 150 house bowler so he is really struggling in this league. Since it is scratch, it's rough to get points on a weekly basis. Oh well, at least we are having fun.

As long as you're having fun GP! Haven't posted here in awhile... The kiddo and I are still steam rolling through this league. He's sitting at about a 111 average, and I've climbed back up to a 178. We've only lost 9 games so far out of 30, so we're doing pretty well. I'm definitely ready for fall/winter leagues to start! My spare percentage has been going up, now it's just working on reading lanes better.
