Congrats Tyveil on that 246.
I bowled last week both of my leagues: On wednesday I shot a 170-172-180 and on Friday I shot a 213 and then down to a 138 and a 158.

Don't feel bad Tyveil, my night was weird as well. The left lane was dry as a bone so my ball hooked like crazy, and the right was saturated so it slid. Had a 206/183/188. We also took 3 of 4 from the 1st place team. It felt good. My son thought we were going to be slaughtered because they all bowled well over 200, but I told him that if we put pressure on them to make their shots by getting ours, they would try too hard and eventually fold to the pressure. And they did! Average dropped 2 pins to 199.9, a small price to pay for the team victory.

Greetings all, some pretty solid scores getting posted this week... good to see. My night wasn't horrible either... we bowled the vacant team but we were one man down (away looking after our Girls Youth team at their nationals) so we were never going to get our full points but we needed the rest of us to perform a bit above our average to ensure we got as many points as we could. Unfortunately, we do not have a good record in this match and never collect the points we are capable of. My team-mate (165 average) didn't have the greatest night with a 146 average but I managed a 172 night (149 current average) with 156, 183 and 176. The last game could easily have topped 200 but for me losing the plot in the ninth frame and blowing an easy spare then guttering the first ball of the tenth (but I did spare it - my specialty)! I was a bit annoyed with myself having put together a solid couple of games. Not to worry.. because I was so far above my average, we managed to score 9 1/2 of 11 points for the night. I think that is the best we have ever done against Vacant, so it didn't matter in the end. Lanes were reasonable this week as well... but because there were just the two of us bowling on the pair, conditions didn't vary much throughout.. I moved my feet and target only a couple of boards for the whole night - nice! Ok.. keep those scores coming, folks... I look forward to all of your reports. Cheers, Allan

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting as much as school/work have been consuming me in these past few weeks. Well we ended up winning our summer league on the final night of the season after a near Cardinals-esque collapse. After having a sizeable lead we split the points 3 weeks in a row heading into the final week and then swept to secure the victory.
Our winter league season is now 4 weeks old and this league is much more difficult than the one we did over the summer but I'm really enjoying the challenge. We had a rough couple of opening weeks as we could come close to winning but not quite get over the final hurdle and take points. All that changed this past week and I've never been a more proud team captain in my life.
Well 3 out of 4 team members, myself included, were probably going to be about 5 minutes late for the scheduled practice time because of obligations on campus. One teammate went ahead on time and told the team we were bowling to wait for the rest of us. Well apparently they don't comprehend English real well because when the 3 of us get to the alley (4 mins after practice was supposed to start) there's about a mintue and a half of practice left on our lanes. Needless to say, I am really upset about this but just bit my lip and decided we'd beat them on the lanes in spite of it. Once they finish getting warmed up I notice there's only 3 of them... and they then proceed to ask us to wait for their 4th teammate to get there!! After screwing us out of practice!! At this point I gather the team together and give a stirring speech, 95% of which is not suitable for print on a family Internet forum about bowling. First game goes well and we all bowl to our potential and one teammate 17 pins over his average and we win by 20 or so. I chipped in with a 158 and the coaching I've been getting and continue to get are really paying off for me. The 2nd game got very testy... during the 7th frame the other team captain (who bowled anchor against me) made a nice shot and my teammates attempted to give him five in congratulations and he just walked right by their hands. I am positively incensed at this point as this was just the culmination of what I saw to be several actions of disrespect. The next time he came up to the lane next to me I let him know exactly what I thought of that, 100% of which is not printable anywhere period. I very nearly came to blows with this guy... and we found out they pull similar stunts with everyone else around the league so it was good to know we weren't the only squad that had this kind of stuff happen to them.
We ended up winning the 2nd game by 4 pins and we lost the 3rd by 10 so we were able to take total pins. I am just so happy with the way my team bowled, it was really something to watch them finally string 3 good games together this season. Hopefully next week entails a much happier report as we most likely won't be dealing with a bunch of jerks. The points should be enough to get us up to around the middle of the table and hopefully we can go from there and keep movin up the table.
Brian

Wow Brian, not such a fun night of bowling but it would seem that Justice was done all the same. Well done to you and your team-mates for holding ot together under trying circumstances. I can't say that I have experienced anything like that in my bowling career and hope not to. Best of luck for your next outing. Keep us up with the play. Cheers, Allan

Haha Brian, what an awesome story. Plus the good guys walked away as the winning team. Can't say i've met any player with the kind of attituded you described, so i haven't really found it necessary to shout at an opposing player. Yet. I know you liked the protocols of our games, Bikedad, so i'll let you have some right now http://www.svenskidrott.se/Toolbox/GamesOnline/wfSvBFMatchDisplay.aspx?MatchId=1819088http://www.svenskidrott.se/Toolbox/GamesOnline/wfSvBFMatchDisplay.aspx?MatchId=1819089And for all of you who don't know yet, i'm Emil Eklund. I did pretty well averaging at 185-190 on both matches, and our team put up a good fight. Well, for as far as reserves goes I did play yet another match last weekend, but the results aren't up yet. That's too bad, since i did my greatest match ever, shooting 823 over 4 games! I opened nice and steady with 202 and 190, however in the third game, i had a foul and was working on 36 in the 4th frame. Then i got a hold of myself and shot a well needed five-bagger, ending the game at 195. And at the last game I shot an amazing 236 game, making me and my partner totally outscore our opponents with 440 against 348. Our total team score was 5700, and the match ended in a tie, 10-10. We had to work hard for it, since the score was 7-3 after two games to the opposing team. And i went home happy, knowing that i've broken my record on 4 games with 6 pins. And i increased my league average to 184. Can i make it 190 before the season is over? I sure hope so

Hi Emil, thanks for the updates. You are putting together some very solid scores - great stuff. Congratulations on improving on your personal best and average, very well done. I see in one match you used substitutes as well... the format of your matches gets more interesting all the time. Keep it up and let us know how things go. Good luck and good bowling, Allan

Congrats to all, good scoring all around. I had a pretty decent night myself.. my average is slowly creeping back up (at 162 now). Hoping to get it back to the 180's by midseason. Last night I bowled a 193, 214, and 149. I wasn't doing well that last game but I did win it for my team in the 10th. They were ahead by 4 pins and both me and my opponent were up (anchors). He left the 10 and I left the 7. He missed and I picked my 7 up followed by a 9 count to win the match. Overall we won all 4 points and have moved into a comfortable 1st place (12-4 record).

hey guys,
I see some good scores going around. This past week was just ok for me.
On wednesday we were bowling a team we beat twice during summer; but they changed their lower average player for a guy that averages 202 and we changed our lowest average player for somebody that averages 190. We still had more handicap than they did, but we bowled most of us under our averages and their new bowler had a 751 series, which included a 279.
My scores for the night were 150, 147 and 148. But I'm holding a 163 average in that league. Needless to say we lost all 7 points.
On my friday league we bowled way above our average as a team, but we still managed to win only 2 out of 7. I had a 197, 184 and a 144. My average on that league is 168 now. I just couldn't figure how to play with lots of carrydown.

It sure is a funny ol' game, isn't it? Up in the clouds one week and into the dumpster the next! Ya gotta laugh... and then get back to it with a will! Keep it up guys, good to see you all here. Well done Tyveil... those scores are on their way up and Lefont.. it was a very steady performance... I never feel bad when I have consistent scores like those... even if they are below average, you know that you bowled well enough but just didn't quite get it right on the night. Keep plugging away.. next week will be different! Cheers to all, Allan
