We've come up with names several times. But for some odd reason, we always do better just as the number given to us at the beginning.

Couple of exceptions was last summer when we were Need a Refill

and The Scragglies. Now the Scragglies is a great story. It was put together by a friend of mine from Jamaica. When he came here to CA, he took up bowling. Met a young lady and when he explained where he was from to her at the very beginning of their relationship she shallowly responded that she thought all people from there were Scraggly. Well we called our summer team The Scragglies. At first they didn't fit into the mixed team format, due to having no lady bowler. They were not allowed to join the league. But they talked me into bowling and we came into the summer season 4 weeks behind. We were begged by the secretary to make up the games (she wanted the sec. fees), but we didn't want to. It was a handicap league , 90$% of 220 or something like that. Several high average teams were in the league. We took the 12 game loss. And won the summer league with only the dozen or so weeks we had to bowl. So the Scragglies earned a little bit of local history that summer. And our Jamaican teammate is no longer with the young lady that coined the team name.

Team on my Sunday Mixed league a few years back was $16 Wasted. It cost $16 to bowl. When they raised the fee to $17, they were $17 Wasted.

Bit of oil on the pin deck, me thinks.

either that or the whole team threw it really bad! But perhaps the oil on the backend might be the reason, especially if they ar straight players with not a whole lot of rpm's off thier hand.

Off Constantly

Our team name right now in league is "Off Constantly." I got it from softball, but basically it insures a win every night. If you beat your opponent you win the games. If you lose, when they get asked who they bowled against, they say we beat Off Constantly. We just told our director it is because we are not accurate shooters...therefore, we are off constantly.

I also saw a team that was sponsored by IHOP. they named themselves "I.H.O.P.ness".
("I" "H" "O" "P"ness)

My personal favorites are "Turkey Hunters" or "We like to Hambone!"

We have alot of fun and all the other teams tell us they have the most fun bowling our team, but we always try to get their goat [in a funny way ] so they named us the Goat Getters a few years ago and we still us it today!
