Thanks - I had a wonderful time Time to get my head back in the game and get back over 160. Where do I find the ctrl-alt-delete buttons again? I think I definitely need to reboot - ha ha

Had my career high last night. Shot 235-225-203 for a 663 set. As always, the ultra-competitive nature in me is disappointed that I left a 700 on the table last night, as I could have punched out in game 2 for a 257 and had a real shot going into game 3. But oh well, I threw the ball really well, my armswing was freer than it ever has been and I wasn't bending my elbow like I have a tendency to do. My ball speed consequently was down which was definitely helping with my carry. I only had one open frame all night and it was the 10th of game 2, so that hurt. But there's always next week. My average is now up to 189 after entering the season with a 169 book average.

Congrats on the best series to date, nice bowling!!
We didnt have a good night as a team. We lost 3 of 4 points, losing the middle game by 1 pin (anchor threw a split in the 10th). I shot 201-258-191. The last game the lanes were flying and while I got to the pocket with authority the extra speed took away my carry. Its still a decent 650 series and a bettering outing. I need more confidence more than anything right now. I'm not all that comfortable and i'm still averaging 198-219. I can't wait until I feel locked in then it's on. I wont hold my breath though its been a weird Winter league so far lol

Nice rolling there Slimmy. I've done the same thing several times this season, where just one game messed up the chance of a 700. Be happy with setting a new high set for yourself and that you are improving your average. I can relate with the whole getting locked in statement Mike. I've been saying that. It seems every fall season I start off a little shaky, usually nothing like I went through at one point and then start to turn it up right around this time of year. I don't know why because I do summer leagues and practice during the summer so I keep everything working right.

After a week off where I spent my league night walking around NYC, I came back with a nice solid 258-209-245 for a 712 series. I was pretty happy because the week before the one that I had missed, I had struggled quite a bit. Also, our team took 5 out of 7 points tonight going into a position round next week. It should have adjusted us so we don't have to play a team that has I bowler I just don't like very much.
The last time we bowled them, we needed a sub. The sub had a lower average, thus, they were going to get less pins. The bowler on the other team hovered over us as he recalculated the handicap 4 straight times after 4 consecutive frames, never asking us how we calculated it or even politely telling us that he just wanted to double check. At one point, he walked away with our recap sheet, I'm guessing to probably check with a league official. Of course, we had the right handicap anyway, so I don't know why he felt the need to be an idiot and go through all of this, never once saying a word to us. Some people are ridiculous.

Well, I didn't bowl as a sub last night. My wife and i went out, instead. Had dinner, saw a movie, and shopped, since a lot of stores were open late for the weekend. Had a great time. Sometimes, being together is just as much fun as bowling. It did cost me more money, though.

Just to show you how weird my Winter season is so far:
Local lanes: Tuesday 5 man scratch league. Lanes are usually dry and end up being fried. Lots of mechanical issues etc etc. Worst Winter season for me by far. These are running season averages by game.
Game 1 = 186.47, Game 2 = 207.33, Game 3 = 199.60.
Same local lanes: Thurs 5 man mens handicap subbing + Weds Mixed subbing. Usually more oil and not quite the dramatic break down: Game 1 = 216, Game 2 = 182.20, Game 3 = 224.40.
Different center: 4 person mixed league. Excellent center, oil holds up usually, no break downs, better carrying house.
Game 1 = 218.20, Game 2 = 228.60, Game 3 = 211.73.
I'm not handling transition well at all. On Thurs/Weds they have oil and I do good. It transitions and I move too quick or too quick to change bowling balls but then I rebound. Tuesday it's dry and I dont do well on dry. The scores reflect that BUT I did shoot 640 this week by lofting the ball a little. It gave me a much nicer look and I think that will continue.
Just like Dennis the GF and I seem to be going out more rather than me subbing. I need the break and well a night out with her is better than a good night of subbing (cant let her know that though lol ).
