Does anyone have the information handy on what you're supposed to get out of having someone use their bowling hand to grab the wrist of their other hand?

Thanks...

EDIT: I'm looking for the specifics. I understand what you're supposed to use it for generally, I just don't remember what your thumb lining up in a certain position equates to.

COKE BOTTLE TEST
This test is used as a starting point for finding your ideal Lateral Thumb Pitch. If you do not have a Coke bottle you can also use your no bowling forearm/wrist by placing your hand around the point on your arm to where your thumb almost touches your fingers.

Table:
Index finger = 1/8 lateral away from palm
Between Index and middle = 0
Middle = 1/8 lateral under palm
Between middle and ring = 1/4 lateral under palm
Ring = 3/8 lateral under palm

Thanks, that was what I was looking for. Does anyone really ever drill people with lateral under the palm? Anyone I've known that's had someone drill that has never been able to get out of the ball.

I have 1/8" under the palm, but I also have 1/4" forward.

Probably everyone you know has a stretched span?

Try this: extend your arm in front of you with the palm facing down. Now open your hand - try to get the thumb as far away from the fingers as posible. Your thumb is probably pointing away from the palm right now?

Now bring the thumb closer to the fingers. It's not only moving towards your fingers but also under your palm. Is it?

My reasoning is that this experiment shows that if you have a stretched span, your thumb will want to point away from the palm. If your span is more relaxed, it would point more under the palm.

So if your span is stretched and you have too much under palm pitch, that would probably result in you not being able to get out of the ball.

DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE ONLY MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON THE SUBJECT. I AM NOT AN EXPERT!

Interesting discussion, Luksa. I did that with both hands. M bowling hand is definitely different than my other hand. Has it been stretched from bowling?

I can't speak for everyone I know, but I know my span isn't stretched.

If I leave my hand completely relaxed, my thumb is out by my index finger. It points forward, but it's not under my palm. Also, when I grab my wrist, my thumb lines up with my middle finger.
