GAH! For a no-tap 9 pin strike night, I SUCKED. My high scratch game was 184, low was 172. With handicap, I ended up with a 510ish series. Considering how I've bowled my last several practice games, I seriously should have had at least one 250 in there. Bah.

And not a single clean game in the series. Dangit!

It's OK, lysaer...just think how bad it would have been if it wasn't No Tap! You'll have better games. Just look at my post from Tuesday on my wonderful first game. We all have them. I've learned to just move on.

Thursday night update:

We took all 7 and won this position round for the quarter. thumbsup

We all bowled well, everyone was above their average for their respective series and I'm very glad not to have the same kind of night as I did Monday! grin

My games were 229, 275 and 249 for a 753 series. Some nights, things do go well!

Looking forward to next week.

I don't know how long you have been bowling, but this game is always a work in progress. I can tell by your post that you are very passionate about the game. Like I tell my youth bowlers, it is never as bad as it seems and it is never as good as it seems. The important thing is to learn from what just happened.

I'm really beginning to hate this game. No matter how much I try to work on things, I get worse and I forget what I worked on and how to replicate it.

I was terrible tonight, footwork was all over the place, starting position was all over, pushaway was all over, release was terrible.

Absolutely nothing good tonight.

I'm spending far too much money on a game that is starting to give me less and less pleasure and more frustration than it's worth.

You sound like me two weeks ago. I usually take a nice relaxed attitude to the lanes. I really pride myself on self control. But two weeks ago it seemed like nothing was going to happen for the good. And I did what I really hate to see at the alleys and lost my temper. Being the anchor bowler and not being able to come through in every game, every adjustment was wrong, and meanwhile having my tail handed to me was too much for me. I just felt like after all of my practice and time had been waisted. But the very next week I bounced right back. So just hang in there, work on one thing at a time that may help your focus.

I hate bowling the blind team. I just don't feel motivated.

I won 2 of the 3 games. If I didn't open in the 10th in the 2nd game by missing the 10 pin I would have won all 3.

You never get patted on the back for beating the blind team do you?

Well tonight i think i was about to quit after the first game. My lowest game this season a 128. I was all over the place pulling the ball, feet were fast, thinking way to much about every single shot, and plus i had almost 5 or 6 opens the game. Then Second game went out side took a break replaced some tape in my thumb hole, which i think i go back tomrw and have them go one size smaller in thumb slug. Slow my self down and bowled and be confident. Shot a 232 the game with no opens. Then Third game kept the streak going untilt he 10th missed a 8 pin because just rushed it and end up with 194. Good News shot above my average and went up one pin.

Team Wise Lost the first but took the other two game. Last game was clsoe abut ten pin there anchor need a mark but he left the 5-10 split and failed to convert.

So we took 2 out of 3.

Bored so let me post my league stats for tonight. Came in averaging 178 and we had a tough team. Two 175 bowlers on the other team and we needed to come out and bowl. I didn't do all that well the first game and shot a 164...I hate the 7 pin (I'm a lefty). We won since the other team didn't bowl that well and my partner bowled a 202. Next game was 183 and last game was a 246. We won all 4 games and back in first place! Raised my average to a 181. We got another tough one next week and bowling with out a handicap is a lot of fun!!

VRT COOKER, I noticed that you are bowling in Japan and was wondering what type of equipment you use over there? I noticed Brunswick has International balls and was wondering if that was the common ball choice for you?
