Tues we just received a good smack down. We were in 2nd and the first place team wiped us out in the scratch league. 1st is a done deal but I think we can recover and take 2nd. Weds I just got back from my team ripping 7 points from a team we gave 200/game pins too. We crushed them the first game by 108. I managed 258-208-215 but with 3 different balls, 3 different lines and in the middle game I converted 2 of 4 splits to start the game. The transition here is like no other place I've seen. We should be in 10th place or so out of 20+ teams. We just aren't functioning as a team but the last 3 weeks we've seen that turn around bu going 17-4 points wise. Friday we are only 3 strong and hanging in there. We finished in 3rd for the first half(large mixed league 25+ teams). The 2nd half we are in the upper end of the pack way too early to tell what's going to happen but for 3 people we are strong. Personally for the season I've shot a 299 game and on another ocassion shot 784 with a 290 game mixed in there. Averages are in the 210 range but I had a very slow start with a wrist injury that still bothers me but seems to get better SLOWLY. I'm looking foward to a strong finish individual and team wise.

Monday night men's is 3 thirds. We came in second in each of the first 2 thirds. Next week starts the third leg with our 9th bowler of the season. Surprised this team has been that high. It doesn't deserve it.
Wednesday night men's, finished second in the first half before XMas. We blasted the first place team and set recoreds for high game and series team. But, we were too far behind to win. That was the night I got hurt. Bowled tonight and we are in tenth of 14in the second half. The team won the first night without me, but dropped 15 of 21 points the next 3 weeks. Tonight, we won all 7. I feel a comeback. Team has good chemistry, I let them down for 4 weeks.
Friday mixed, I am only a sub. It is really a social league. I have second high average in the league. I just have fun 2 of every 3 weeks.

I love the idea of this thread. Thanks for starting it, Scott. My Wednesday Night Mixed league just completed week 20 with 15 weeks to go. We're in second place, 21 points behind the first place team, 10 points ahead of the third place team. We faced the seventh place team, who enjoyed a handicap of over 100 pins. We struggled in the first game, scraping past by a mere 9 pins. We won the next 2 games by more comfortable margins, taking all 7 points. As for me, I had a fairly steady night; 162, 177 and 155 for a 494 series. I had 2 weeks in a row where I had clean games and a 200 game, but neither of these came my way last night. I felt like I had to fight for my marks all night, but it was my second highest series and I can't be disappointed about averaging about 20 pins above my 144 season average, which has now gone up to 145. I definitely need to practice more 10 pin spares, as my newly plugged and re-drilled ball only hit 1 of 3 - not that I blame the ball, of course. I don't know how the first place team did, but I know they were bowling against the fourth place team with only a 40 pin difference for handicap. However, we swept a team that swept us earlier in the season, and we're happy about that. If we can gain some ground toward first place, so much the better.

I agree with Richard, great thread...nice to know how everyone is doing. Well, my Tuesday night team is holding it together (well, at least three of us our) for what it worth. We're in first place after sweeping the 2nd place team on position night this past Tuesday. The 3rd place team got swept by the 4th place team so we now have a 9.5 game lead on the 4th place team, who moved into 2nd after position round. Should be an interesting last 17 weeks, because the new 2nd place team is a team of 4 ladies and 1 gentlemen, and they are on fire as of late. Current average - 202.
Wednesday night...what else can I say? It's been a season long struggle. My 1st and 2nd bowlers have basically bowled their entering averages to this point (181 and 137, respectively), but my 3rd and 4th bowlers have slipped dramatically. They are at 164 and 176, although they entered at 175 and 193, respectively. I had an 'off' night last night, shooting just 617. Tough shot, was playing deep outside, off the rail and leaving a lot of tap. We lost three games, and I had a chance to win the last one, needing to double in the 10th...got the first, left a stone 9 pin on the 2nd shot. Very frustrating. We were in 13 place (out of 18 teams), but may drop again after last night...I'm going to keep doing what I do and just hope that my 3rd and 4th bowlers can pick it up and put us a little higher in the money by the end of the league. Still 17 weeks to go, so a long time. Current average - 205.
Sunday night...again, just an exercise in frustration. This is the other league (along with Tuesday) that I figured on competing in until the end. This is the only league I don't anchor, instead opting to lead off. Only 4 person teams, and my 3rd and anchor bowlers have struggled. Lost three this past Sunday, and lost ugly. Over 100 pins all three games. I think we're in 15th or 16th out of 22 teams. Not good times. Current average - 217.

Just a follow up we got setback this week as we went 1-3. The first game we lost by 3 pins, second by over 100 and won the last one by 21.
Had a chance in the first game when a had a strike in the 9th and buried my first one in the 10th but left a ringing ten. Picked it up and got another strike but needed that double and fell short by 3.
Still there is enough time and we are still only 7 1/2 back of first.

Great Thread! My update:
On Monday night we are in first place, having crushed the first place team on position night. They have since dropped from the league, not showing up the next week after the position round. I wonder if we had anything to do with that... That was the night our 4 man team hit our high scratch pin totals of 889, 880 and 903. My scratch series that evening was 720. We have since won 12 of the available 14 points for the last two weeks. In other words, we lost one game (8 freakin pins to a team we have to give almost 180 pins to!) I'm averaging 201 on that league, up from a season starting average of 189.
On our Thursday Mixed League we are hanging in the middle of the pack. I am not bowling as well in this league as on Monday. The house shot is so messed up on Thursday and I believe it's because they haven't dressed the lanes right before league starts as they do on Monday night. I was really confused at the beginning of the league but have since been doing better. My high series in this league is 712 and my average is 5 pins under Monday night's average at 196.
One of my Monday night team mates has a son who is a good Junior Bowler. He probably carries a higher average than I do <G> but asked me to bowl with him in a Junior/Senior tournament in March. I am flattered. His dad said that the kid wanted to try this as his dad has been dragging him down in the past three tournaments they have bowled together in. I find that hard to believe! His dad is a good bowler.
Anyway, that's it for now. Let's keep contributing. It's almost like a suspense novel, ain't it? lolololol....
