I am starting to sound like a broken record....but it happened again last night. The other team had a couple guys with a 151, and a 153 average, and of course they both bowled out of their A$$'s shooting over 600 each. Every one else was about average.
And we lost all seven. I was over average for the night, nothing spectacular though.

I like to see guys have good nights, but not always at our expense.

Eraser,
Maybe you should charge teams for bringing people out of a slump? Yes, you'd lose all the time, but you could make some serious money...

No? Well, just a thought. : )

I know how you feel, though. Teams usually seem to bring their "A" game against us, too.

It does get old kikn,
I said in an earlier post that one night a few weeks back we as a team shot over 3400 for the night....and lost all seven. We give points most weeks and when guys are having "CAREER" nights its hard to come back. All you can do is tip your hat, and try again next week.

I feel you Eraser. I try to remind my team that often times we are the ones bowling way over our averages. Then sometimes a teammate will mention the sandbagging word and I just say hmmmm, they are 10 games under .500 way out of first and they are sandbagging and decided to come alive in the 20th week of the season?

Like you said the best thing sometimes is to tip your hat to them and just try again next week.

Sandbagging i been called that this season. When i broke out of my slump i broke out of it in big way. I was carrying like 167 average at the time and finally everything clicked that night and shot a 661 against them. They thought i was sandbagging but i was just lost getting my form timming and ect back the first part of the season.

I think a lot of people feel anyone who gets way above thier average is a sandbagger. I myself went from 162 to 174 (then slid back to 171). Now my teammate set his average the first week at 169 and is now at 139. That is a reverse sandbag.

There is only one guy on our league that I would consider a sandbagger as he has gone from 95 to 141 which is quite a jump and in the 3rd week he was already in the 140 range.

I have a firend in my league who averages in the 230's. When he shoots a bad game he tell me i call this "average control". LOL!

Shot 452 tonight.

Just getting worse and worse.

Going sunday morning to a new Pro Shop and another house that my teammates recommend and the guy there is apparently very good with ball fitting.

We'll see how it goes.

Thursday League night.... THe first game is becomming my worst game. I usally dont have a good second game, but the past weeks been worse. I have never went lower the 140's in league. Now last two weeks straight the first game been in 120's. Tonight i shot a 123 the first game OUCH! I seem to do nothing right the first game. I miss spares, feet get to fast, miss my mark, and make wrong moves or change ball to quickly. Then the second game it all seem to go away. For my second game i shot 201 and third 186 respectively. Barely shoot a 510 series. I was under my average by two pins but retain my overall average of the league so plateau this week.

I now just need to try to focus relax on the first game. I dont maybe get bowling alley early which i do. Maybe i should bowl a practice game or maybe have beer just to relax my self and see if that helps. If i can get rid of that bad game i have a much better series each week.

Team wise. Lost 1st game by 100 won second game by 100 won the third by 67 pins. So we were 2 out of 3 tonight. Not too bad.

Thursday night league,....Wow we actually took all 7 for a change. We won the first game by 1, the second by 5, and the third by 104. And we were missing our anchor man, so we only had four bowlers. Its about time. For me nothing spectacular, pretty consistant and over average for the night. Had a nice third game starting out with the front 7, and leaving a 10 pin in the 8th which I spared, leaving the 3,6,10 (tugged it)in the 9th also spared, and then struck out, winning a jackpot to boot. After the first 7 I had visions ( or illusions lol) of a 300, heart started to race a little, hands started to shake slightly, so I watched a little basketball on the tube in between frames and seen Duke get nipped at the end of the game which took my mind off of it. But that adrenaline rush......Man I love that feeling.
