here are a few more video's i took tonight... i tried to work on my approach, and not to run to the line. I sometimes could not get the ball to hook back into the pocket and I also was not consistant on my release/where i'm aim/throwing the ball.. I guess i just wish I could be a semi-good bowler over night. I know it takes time.. im just trying to tell myself that it does and to keep working at it. if you guys check these out, please leave some feedback and I will try anything

Thanks guys

Matt

99, speed is much better. Your rushing stopped and so did the pulling of your arm. But, on release, you left your arm down low, without any lift. You may have to bend more at the slide and get more lift with your arm without pulling it.

I see no balance. You are moving all over the place on your way to the line. After you release, you are still moving and flopping all over the place. That is a sign of no balance. The less moving parts you have the better. What I tell my son is this. Keep it simple stupid. Keep your head, ball and right foot in a line. Don't move your head for the whole delivery. Keep your eyes on your target. You should be able to put a plate of food on your head. Keep your head in this line for the whole delivery. extend your non bowling arm for balance and keep it there. After pushaway, let the ball swing by its own force. don't try to help the ball get there. You have a hop step which seems to throw off your tempo. You need to smooth out your steps. Practice your approach right now, without a bowling ball. Practice not moving your head and keeping your balance throughout your delivery. You should be able to hold your finish pose without falling over. Stop like a statue and watch the ball roll over your target.

99,
In your first video, your hand came up in front of your face. You pulled each ball to the left. Once, on the 1-3 pickup, you did it correctly. Watch that one.
In the third video, you are finishing with your hand reaching out and down, and the ball didn't finish, staying right.
Complete the follow through without forcing it.

Your foot speed is better, but your arm still looks very controlled. Your arm should swing like a pedulum, and your feet should go the speed that your armswing dictates. You shouldn't have all the tension in your arm that you do.

That tension is causing you to manipulate the ball during it's swing. You're slowing the ball down after your push away and forcing it through the downswing. That in turn is causing you to have to fight your balance. There's also timing that you have to learn, which is where the ball should be on which step. That needs to be the same on every shot.

I think that the best thing to help you impove as fast as possible would be to get a coach. I think you need someone there to show you how to execute a proper approach. You bowling a bunch of games and then people here telling what you should do isn't going to have the same effect as someone putting your body in the right postion and giving you immediate feedback about what you did right and what you still need to work on.

I think using video to have someone point out a flaw or to work on improvements is a good thing, but when you're just starting out, I think it's much better to have someone teach you the basics. It will go much faster that way, and you'll be a lot less frustrated because the feedback will come much faster.

The other thing I notice is that you have no knee bend and you lean way out over the lane. Again, a coach should start with teaching you the proper finishing position so that you have a knee bend and your shoulders don't go past where your knee is.

The fact that you don't have a knee bend (and don't get lower to the lane) also contributes to your bouncing the ball.

The key here is learning a proper approach, proper timing and a proper slide position. Those are the basic building blocks that everything else has to be built upon. My personal opinion is that working on anything else right now will be a bandaid at best, and a distraction and complication at worst.

Lefty thank you so much for the reply. I am in the process of find a coach right now. I really want to learn but I have come across a few pricey coaches, which is fine, but i don't have the deep pockets for it. I will figure out another way I guess.. Thanks so much for all your advice guys... I will keep you posted on what happens.
