Hi Guys, good to see you here. Looks like early season ups and downs for both of you but pretty good scoring all the same. Well done. It will be interesting to see how the season progresses for you with such good starts. Keep us in the loop, I enjoy seeing the reports. Cheers to all, good luck and good bowling. Allan

Each pair get their own pair of lanes, 8 lanes total. Silly :P
Got a new match coming up this Saturday, aka, tomorrow. We're going up against a team called Åkers, and by looking at their former game, these guys doesn't look to stand up against our players. It should be a cakewalk, but who knows. Stay tuned
Looking at you, bigbowlla300 and Lefont, it reminds me that i still have a long way to go, having 200 more often than seldom, and be able to read the lanes more efficiant. Good luck to youz two.
Rock on, and good luck to everyone on their weekend games.

Worst. Match. Ever. Oh, the shame of loosing against a team that is so much worse than us, is just humiliating. Luckily, we had a number of factions to blame. The lane didn't get oiled due to ''delays'', the alley staff weren't present when a machine broke down AND, they were just plain lucky. A countless number of left-pocket strikes and near-misses on single pins.
Too bad i don't have a ball for low oil conditions. The result is an even greater decrease of average :cries:
There, done ranting. Pizza time!

Hey Frost, that format looks like a lot of fun, really like the layout of the score charts.. better luck next week, doesn't look like anyone had a real stellar night.
Ok.. I have to share our league experience last night.. sorry if this is a bit long. It was quite a night, filled with drama.
A little history first. Our teams are made up of 5 bowlers (mens). This year we started with a pretty solid 4 reliable bowlers, not the greatest averages but reliable which is a big thing since last year we pretty much had a rotating roster of 9+ bowlers. The 5th bowler was brought in by one of last years regular members who can't bowl anymore due to health conditions. Anyway, this 5th bowler who claims to have a 220-230 average did not average better than 160's during the first 2 weeks. His frustration shows as he cusses every shot, throws his towel, pisses and moans. Week 3 rolls around and lo and behold our 5th man shows up and is bowling with a different team! Apparently we were the source of his problem (in his mind), so he goes to the team that just happens to be in 1st place and holding the highest team average. We glance over time and again to notice him put up a few 150's and by week 4 his 1st place team drops all the way to 4th, which just happens to tie his team with us (both teams are now 8-8)... on to last night (week 5)...
We're bowling this team with our good old "traitor" 5th bowler. We've since replaced him and our new anchor is doing quite well, shooting a 600+ last week after starting out with a dismal 137 average. First game - these guys are not kidding around.. 2 of their bowlers string 7 strikes and they put up an impressive 1100+ team handicap score. We're hanging around though and only lose by about 70 pins. Things aren't starting so well. Second game - we really turned it on and score in the 1140's but still just barely beat them by 20 pins. At this point they start bitching about sandbagging.. nevermind their supposed 230 bowler is carrying a 165 average. So - third game, we finish them off with another very nice game (around 1070), they fail to break 1000. As a team we have only scored over 1000 handicap game once or twice, tonight we do it all three games to beat the team our "traitor" left us for. Oh sweet sweet revenge. We take all but that first point (3 of 4).
On a personal level I did quite well, scored a 169, 179, and 188. Still not back up to my 600's quite yet but it was the best series I've had since I quit using my support glove, and I felt the most comfortable I have in months. I had turkeys in the 6th, 7th, 8th frame and opened the 9th in every game! My mindset in the 9th just wasn't good I guess. Oh well, I'm ready to hit the ground running next week.
Good luck to all and good bowling.

Thank you Frostbreath. I myself have along way to go. My consistancy is lost in space, but I have been doing a bit better at it the past couple of weeks. I finally made it over 200 avg on my Sunday league, but my Wed league avg is dropping...was 219...now about 205, had some bad weeks. Just be patient, everything will come together. Good luck to you as well.

Hi Guys, good to see everyone active again. Some fascinating stories in your last series of posts, most entertaining. Frosty, bad luck on the big match. I had a look at the scores.. there wasn't really all that much in it, so you get some days like that.. don't worry just go on to next week and concentrate on that. Tyveil, good to see the steady improvement... the changes you have made are beginning to take effect. Stick with it and it will come right soon... probably better than ever. Nice job on the "revenge" match, too. Cool. And Bigbwolla300... you are talking numbers I can only dream about at this stage... I'll take a 200 average any day! Good luck and wait for those good weeks! My last league outing was interesting... lanes 1 and 2 in our centre... traditionally the most hated lanes by all. For some reason I always bowl well on this pair and managed to keep my record intact this week as well. My team-mates also bowled very steady series' and we took all 11 available points. Personally, I bowled 162, 161 and 160. Guess my average for the night! LOL. Lane one was an oil slick... even my team-mate's Black Widow skidded all the way into the pin deck! We all just bowled into the headpin and took what we could get. The opposition didn't change their game at all and scored dismally on this lane. This was where the damage was done! Lane 2 was relatively normal and got dryer with every ball. All of our team finished bowling with the weakest and most polished ball we could find, one man bowled with his spare ball... it hooked plenty! My new walkup, swing and release are starting to become consistent now and I had some more coaching this week... Small improvements are evident... I am looking forward to next week, even though we are playing VACANT team (always a tough night). OK.. good luck to you all and good bowling. Keep the posts coming. Cheers, Allan

Hey Allan,
Congrats on taking all 11 points. I feel good any time we can take 3 of 4.. 11 of 11 must be a great feeling! Haha
Nice job beating the tough lanes too. We have some lanes in our house too that people dread bowling on. For some reason I actually like bowling on those lanes. I look at it as a challenge to beat the house.
Bowling tonight and I can't wait.. between both leagues we're on a 9 of 12 winning streak (3 of 4 for 3 leagues in a row). Good luck all!

Well I had a very odd night. My games were a 143, 246, and 103 (my 1st and 3rd games combined equaled my 2nd game total!!!) First game I felt I was kind of adjusting to my new shoes. 2nd game I was just on. Only open was my first frame 9- (10 pin). Every shot was in the pocket. 3rd game I tried to make a move left because my ball started coming in high the 10th frame of game 2. It didn't work and I left lots of splits. I just couldn't seem to catch the oil in the right spot and my ball was still overhooking. Mentally that 3rd game I was way off, lowest score of the year.
Oh and we did take 3 of 4 from the 1st place team. Last game we only lost by 30 pins... talk about depressing when I bowled a game like that. I really let my team down.

Hey Tyveil, you did, indeed, have an odd night! 246, though.... wow! Great score. Don't worry about the 103... those pesky lanes are just playin' tricks on you. Did anyone else have the same problem? Still 3 from 4 is a good result, especially taking them off 1st place sitters... good job. Keep up the good work, I'll post my evening's efforts soon as we bowl tomorrow night. Lookin forward to it. Cheers to all, Allan

3rd game I blame myself for completely, not the lanes, my equipment, an act from God, or anything else. I think after that 246 I just congratulated myself a bit too much and checked in early. I don't remember really what my ball was doing, how my form was, what mark I was hitting, etc. That shows that my head just wasn't in the game. Tonight I'm going to try to focus espescially on my mental game, hopefully I can stay sharp through 30 frames.
