Hey Allan,
Yea I haven't been posting much because I haven't been able to focus as much time bowling as I'd like to. Since removing my wrist support my average has dropped from upper 170's to low 150's. I think I'm getting better I just need to practice more. Unfortunately I haven't had more time than 1 league a week (3 games), that's just not cutting it. My second league starts tonight and we still have one week left of our summer league so I'll finally get a chance to bowl some games (9 league games over the next 4 days). Now that I can get back into the swing of things (regular 2 nights a week) hopefully I'll be able to post improving scores smile My wife works nights now too so that means there is no time for practice, just leagues.

As far as our Monday night league, we just finished up week 3. The first 2 weeks didn't go so well as we took only 1 and lost 7 points. My average which was using last years 178 dropped to a 153. So week 3 we came back slightly with me just barely making my average (maybe a few points under) and took 3 of 4 points so our record now is 4-8. At least that's better than last years dismal start of 1-15 after 4 weeks. The good news is I know I can improve on my average because I've been there before. Guess I'll have to push back that goal of 200 average to next year though.

Good work there Allan. I wish i had won my first game, too frown

I played my first game this season last weekend, with a painful deafeat of 6 - 13 (we play four games, not three). I scored best in my team with 720, 180 average, which really shows the quality of our players :P Well, it was in the reserves, so i can't complain.

Tomorrow however, i'll be playing in our A-team, where we at least have an average of 190. I also get a chance to try out my new Storm Agent, which i have yet to play with in the league. I'm satisfied so far with it, and i hope i can pull a 200 average smile

Hi everyone. I was beginning to think I was the only one left here! Tyveil, good to see you back and into it again but sorry to hear that work is interfering with your play, though, LOL. It just ain't right! Good luck for the next rounds.. it looks as though you are going to be busy. I, too have gone back to bowling without a brace - the wrist is finally strong enough to stand the strain - and with a much modified release, I am looking forward to being pain-free this season.
Greetings, too, to Frostbreath - Sweden is about as far away from my home as you can get, but here we all are. Great place. Congratulations on your score and good luck for your next outing. It looks like it will be a tough night at the office. Let us know how it all goes.
Cheers to all,
Allan

Thanks Allan.

Too bad i didn't do better today, i just scratched 706 (176.5 avg). I still got ranked 4th in our team (we have 8 players), so to sum it all up, we did a craptastic match. But we still managed to win with 15-5 (4 games, rememburrrr). I started off awful with 168 and 155. But when the oil settled a bit i threw a 180 and 203! And by doing so barely make the 700 mark.

Total score of our team was 5605 (8 times 4 eaquals 32. 5605/32=175-ish), while the other team 5163. Scratch. We don't use our handicap in leagues.

If you're interested, and prepared to ignore all the Swedish mumbo jumbo, you can view the scores here:

Wow! Eight person teams and four games... they must be marathon sessions. How long does it take to get through it all? It is good to see you still managed to hang onto your game and keep improving through the night - it must be hard to maintain concentration between shots. How about lane changes during the match? Do they alter a bit or drastically from the start of game one to the end of game four? I see you bowl as pairs, are the other pairs on the same pair of lanes? This was an inter-club match as well? Do you also bowl leagues within your own club?
I have just studied those results a little closer.. effectively, you bowl one game against each other pair in your opposition's team. What a great format. That must be quite a lot of fun. Cool stuff, Emil, keep posting those results. Mine are a lot more modest, but since we are sharing, they can be found here.. http://www.leaguesecretary.com/Includes/Reports/LeagueFiles.asp?SiteID=1&LeagueID=7925. I am in team 10 (NAH). You will figure that one out pretty quick!
We bowl tomorrow night, so I hope to have a reasonable night and have something to report soon.
Good luck and good bowling all.
Allan

Gak! Tonight was the pits for me! 89,139 and 101 for a 110 average. I think I have forgotten how to bowl! I couldn't hit a thing. Back to the practice regimes again this week. I hope the rest of you are having a much better time of it. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Allan

Marathon sessions? Lol. I remember when i entered a one-day tourney, where i played 24 games. And won 3,500 SEK (roughly $500) smile

4 games takes about 90 minutes. The lane conditions usually gets different after the first two games, then it settles for about 10 games. And yes, the pair plays against the opposite pair on the same pair of lanes.

This match WAS in the league. The official Swedish league. We're not ranked very high, though. We play in the 3rd division, which is about as low as you can get. But yeah, it's loads of fun. And other than the protocol getting publish on the net, our club has a webmaster who posts our averages on the net wink

Sorry though, the picture is broken. Can't view it. Bohoo frown

Hard to compliment a 110 average, but at least you seem to know where the problem lies. Hopefully. I can't tell.

Threw a 771 at practice yesterday. On four. Now it's just a ongoing wait until saturday.

Hi Frostbreath, yeah.. 110 was not all that flash... there was a time during the match when I didn't think I would even make 100! It was truly horrible. Never mind, back to the drawing board and some coaching. I have made so many changes to my game this season to get over various faults that I get confused at times and forget just about everything.. then I have nights like that last one!
Now.. back to your league... do all four pairs play on the one pair of lanes or does each pair have a pair of lanes to bowl on? I just couldn't see 16 bowlers getting through four games each in 90 minutes on a single pair of lanes!
Good luck on Saturday and keep us posted on how it all goes.
Cheers,
Allan

My Sunday league is in week 3 and in the fisrt week my beginning avg was a 180, which isn't great for me. But it has gradually increased to around 192 in week 3, week 4 being this Sunday.
My Wednesday league started better with a 219 avg, but 2 bad weeks has dropped it to around 208, will be a bit lower with the sloppy 512 series yesterday.

I was out last week sick so I couldn't play. I got back last night on my wed. nigh league and I bowled pretty good. I had a 559 Series. I started really bad with a 137 (I couldn't figure it out the lane) and then found my line around 9 board and got a 202 and a 220. My average on wednesday is now 160, up from a 127 last fall. And on fridays I have a 172. I hope I can keep it up, so I can get most improved in both leagues.
