The other I day I left the air on in my apartment all day. I try not to do this because it is a terrible waste of money. That night I went to practice and noticed how cold my ball was to the touch. (I sleep with my air on about 67 degrees) The ball felt weird in my hand and also seemed to react and hit differently than normal. I know with most other sports (golf,baseball,football,soccer) the air temperature changes how the ball reacts when hit or kicked.
Is this all a figment of my imagination? either way bowling with my ball that cold was distracting and I wont be doing it again.

Its not your imagination. A very cold ball will be harder which means it will skid more and deflect more when it hits the pins. A very hot ball will be softer and will "burn up" sooner and roll out. That's not to mention the problems you're going to have with the size of your thumb and finger holes.

But its not as simple as that. The cold ball isn't going to stay cold. So even if you adjusted for the harder surface and looser holes, that ball is going to slowly adjust to room temp so you'll have to constantly adjust how you throw it and remove tape.

It's got to be tough in the summer especially to try and keep a consistent temp with the extreme differences between heat outdoors and A/C indoors, but what I'll try to do is see how my local center handles the heat. If they have a lot of A/C I'll keep my ball in the house where I'll have A/C on and in the back seat with A/C in the car on the way to the center. If on the other hand the lanes are pretty warm, then I don't know what to do...I wouldn't want to leave it in the car. Maybe I'll keep it indoors and put it out on the back porch an hour or so before I bowl to let it adjust temp.

I have a two ball locker in the bowling center where I play, that way the ball temperature allways stays constant, the third and 4th balls have time to adjust temperature, because I don't use them that much.

Thats what I planned on doing chris. I get home at 5 I figure an hour outside on the porch is enought time to adjust the temp.
I bowl in several places regularly Luis so it might be more trouble than its worth to get a locker.I dont know, its not far from my house but i'd feel odd walking in and getting my stuff to go bowl some place else. Loyalty issues, probably silly.

Zackneden, I have experienced the cold bowling ball feeling myself. Years ago I lived in a small town off Lake Erie and bowled in a winter league. Well, from my apartment to the house was only about 2 miles, but the temperature would often get down to single digits (and usually snowing.) Even a short ride would make my ball cold. It felt like a ball of ice with holes in it. What I did was I got to the alley at least twenty minutes early to thaw out the ball and my fingers (and gloves don't help when it's under 10 degrees.) Then, after the practice session, everything would be back to room temperature.
