Hey guys! I'm new to this board, as you can tell, and I have a question. I have an Absolute Inferno, which works great on the synthetic lanes with medium oil, but not on the other house that does not have synthetic lanes and are very oily. I just heard about the Smokin' Inferno and wonder what you may have heard or think about it? I bowl 2 leagues in heavy oil, plus sub 2-3 times a week there, and one league in medium oil.

well the SI can handle more oil then the absolute but not more then the ultimate, because the SI is pearlized. If i were you, i would get the SI and the UI because those along with the AI create a devastating arsenal. Out of just the 2 I would suggest the SI because the ultimate is particle and cant play as many shots as the smokin can.

If you're up around Elmira, you can try to catch Ryan at his shop. He won't steer you wrong even though he's on Storm staff.

Its basically a original inferno with a dull solid coverstock. But I agree that its not as versatile.
I've never heard of the SI, is it yet to be released?

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure where Elmira is, I'm near Syracuse. The SI is coming out next month, and there is now info on the Brunswick web page. It doesn't seem much different from what I'm throwing now, so I'm not sure I want to go that way. I LOVE my Silver Streak, but it's getting pretty worn out. I'm going to have it resurfaced and see if that brings back some life!
If the lanes are heavy oil and you like the absolute Inferno then you should probably go with the ultimate Inferno. Matte surface will go into a forward roll earlier.

From my neck of the state, I'd take the NJ Turnpike to 3 West, and then 17 North until I hit 352. Elmira is hit by 13 driving south from Ithaca. Its south west of you.
Syracuse? hmmm, Last time I was in Syracuse for the NYS state tournament, I bowled well enough to make some cash and also bowled an honor score

I decided to go with the new Ebonite XXXCel. I'm getting it drilled next week and will take it out to see how it performs. I'll let you all know what I think!
