Am I missing something, or does this product sound like it will do more harm than good?

It looks like a replacement for a spinner.

It has no facility for a pearl (which you want polished) or even a normal polished ball. There is no variability in the grit.

I wouldn't touch it.

You want to be able to determine the grit you use and the polish you apply. . .
