Without goin to a doctor, what has anyone done if or when they've had any wrist problems. Im goin to take about two weeks off and let some of the soreness(hopefully) go away. I will continue to ice my wrist. I've had a little pain and inflamation around the knuckle area for a few weeks now.

Go to the Doc! It ain't sore and inflamed for no reason. I ignored a similar set of symptoms and didn't get any treatment, just figured that rest would fix it. It didn't. Now I live with a weak wrist and some pain all the time because I didn't get it looked at soon enough. My two cents worth, anyway.

One of my friends had wrist pain for 2 years and didn't go into a doctor because he said that he didn't have time. He would take a week off of bowling every 3-4 weeks. When he finally went to the doctor, they found that he had torn ligaments and need surgery. He is finally able to start lifting weights again. He hasn't been able to pick up a ball since the end of last season. So, moral of the story is....GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!
The only way to treat the problem is having a look. You may or may not need an MRI done, but you need to get it examened. The problems you might have are from simple tendinnitis, bursitis, capsulitis, tendon tear, muscle tear, cartilage damage, and more. In some cases, a simple antiinflamatory could do the job, but, sometimes you can need an infiltration, or phisical therapy (ultrasound, infrared, hydrotherapy, controlled excersise, etc.), or surgery in some cases. So you see, IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE. One more thing, if you have pain, and you heven't had it diagnosed, you should not be playing, till you know what the problem is. I've seen guys who had simple tenndinitis problems, didn't treat it correctly, and when they came to me, they had worsened from acute tenndinitis, to cronic tenndinitis ( tenndinitis+ old tears, and scar tissue and mobility limitations), that required surgery to get rid of scar tissue and, the sad part about it, was, some can't continue playing. Now if they would of come to me earlier, treatment would have been much more conservative and prognosis would have been full recovery. Just some advise form someone who has seen the problem first hand.
Thanx guys. I'll look up a doctor. I know I hyper-extended my wrist a while ago, but that I know did heal. This does seem a little more serious, but I'm crossing my fingers. The inflamation isnt really bad, but I do know its there.
I've been out from bowling for the last month and a half. I got a knee injury at my first tournament in the middle of april and then my shoulder went off. I immediately went to an orthopaedic doctor, and thank goodness was not anything major. But I would say that a doctor is the best answer to any concerns like the one you said.
I went practice today for the first time. Glad to be back bowling.
