Didn't want to make two separate posts, so here are both reviews in one.
Tour Power - drilled with pin above fingers, CG under ring finger above midline. This puts the pin at 5 3/4 inches from PAP. I left the box 800 surface on the ball. My thinking is that this drill pattern is too weak as the Tour Power is not a high flaring ball. The ball absolutely flies through the first 45 feet with no problem and makes a very hard turn with a very heavy roll. It's kind of like what a danger zone would have done if you shined the bejeezus out of it up to about 5000 grit. For me, the jury is still out until I drill another with a much stronger layout, as I think it will fit the ball and my game a whole lot better. Worked great on the Ultra Hot (see next).
Ultra Hot - didn't really know what to expect out of this one. Too Hot's core with an 800 grit sanded surface that has the Ultra Fleck (El Nino Gold) in the cover. I shined the ball up but didn't go to any higher grit. The ball is drilled at 4 1/2 by 4 1/2, with the pin slightly lower than the ring finger and the CG exactly on the midline. The ball has slightly under an ounce of positive side weight. The result was one of the best bowling balls I have ever thrown. The combination of medium core/strong layout/strong coverstock gave me an extraordinary amount of control and the strongest, smoothest arc I have ever seen from any reactive ball. The ball hits like there's no tomorrow. The shiny surface gets the ball down the lane far enough. It can be a bit squirty in oil, but that's more because I throw the ball too fast at times. the Ultra Fleck helps give the ball some movement in the oil if you tug it, and the ball will come back from the dry without any problem if you swing it. This ball is a definite 9.5 out of 10 (only because no ball is a 10)
